i cant find the patches on BossExchange :((
nice playing, nice gadget
came for the pedal, want the guitar.
He doesn't answer comments, so stop writing 'hey Tom would you recommend blah blah blah.'
Is there any way I can get your presets n the GX-10?
does it come with Tom Qualye's skills? ????
I have both units. I've had the Pod Go for about a year and the GX 100 for about 2 weeks. I'm thinking of selling the GX 100 because I can't get a good sound out of it.
Also, the POD GO only has 4 free blocks, while the GX 100 has 15. However, in the GX 100 you have to choose Pedal Volume, Wah, Noise Suppressor, Amp, and Tap Tempo, whereas the Pod Go already has it by default. In addition, the POD GO has many more modulation and amp options, not to mention it has a balanced output while the GX 100 does not. The POD GO also has a higher sampling rate in case you want to use it as an interface.
An absolutely marvelous piece of kit. Solid state amps are back. They really bring this new technology to life. Get rid of all your patch cables and pedals and unwanted noise and hassles. Every effect in the GX is matched optimized to each other sonically and the effect chain.
Hello. Will your presets be suitable for a model smaller than the gx10??)
Always sublime tones with Tom.
Why is my fender Mexican on input level of +14 ,and it's on the the yellow peak , is my guitar pickup faulty ? Everything else is on full
Great, awesome unity
19:53 This works for non E standard tuning too. You can adjust the tuning offset for poly tuning mode using knob 4. I most often tune to Eb standard, so just set it to -1 and off I go!
One question if you see this please. All the tones I've seen demoed are, in my opinion, "edgy." Just a bit brittle and broken up. I'm longing to find a smooth, saturated tone like I used to get with no effort from my Mk IIc Boogie. Is that possible on the GX-100? Which amp model?
Ok, the demo is great, but you playing??!! Holy shit dude!!!! Especially with an altered tuning. I'm assuming it's just the B and E up a half step? That makes perfect sense, so the string intervals are the same. Very cool.
Great review. Helped to sell it to me. On my way to buy it!
Great demo and a fantastic guitarplayer!
Really helpful – thanks. So useful not to have teh entire demo done in high gain!
Can you program it to roll the effects over when switching patches or does it cut them off, reverb or delay for example?
Set that thing for priest or sabbath or Metallica that's what's gonna sell this thing .
First class as always Tom. Thank you for posting this.
After the gt 100 I've found it really hard to back to boss modellers, the fx were typically boss but the amp mods were average at best
This may of swayed me
Would anybody please tell me what kind of stand he is using to hold the gx100 ?
Why would I use it in studio? HOW DOSE IT SOUND THRU MY FENDER DELUXE???,? ???? ????
Honestly. Boss should always let you be one of the firsts to do this kind of review. Because you always do it great. ????????????????
M using ampero.. ita output is great but facing some software glitch and delay sometimes stucks while patch switching.. i never faced this issue in my gt-1 … hence boss has my trust.. and thinkin to upgrade to gx100 or gt1000 core.. only i want to know whether gx100 can be put in my gigbag or not..
donde puedo comprar los parches?
Are the patches still on Boss Tone Central? Love the clean tone!!
Hi Tom, I’m in a dilemma and wondering if you and/or anyone reading this can help me to decide on whether I should spend my hard earned money on what I’ve had my eye on for the past week, a Boss GT-100 or a GX-100. My particular needs are lush reverbs like cathedral & envelope filter(whap whap – Jerry Garcia tunes). Love your video. It’s the first one I’ve watched of yours. Thank you. It’s very informative.
Great demo Tom! I am mostly sold on this unit o replace my cumbersome pedal board. I wonder why there's no XLR out on it. Would make this unit a slam-dunk in my eyes.
Ahhhh the lifelong search/hunt/yearning for the ever elusive noise eh? I harnessed it about 5 years ago and I'm a very very happy camper indeed, I admit it was like bagging fog or trying to pin jelly on a wall, -but it can actually be done! yes, it is indeed where science meets art as some already are well aware of, but the hunt was certainly worth it in my case.
Molto bello!
What are Toms patches? They don't come up under his name on BTS.
The thing that compromises the experience is the lack of the balanced output. Was considering this as a tour-friendly alternative for my Helix, which is huge and heavy, but it would require an external DI-box, which defeats the purpose of an all-in-one quick-to-set-up unit a bit.
An honest question, there is a lot of difference in sound (sound quality), between a pedalboard like the boss GX100 and a Quad Cortex (I'm talking about sound and not tools).
That bit about adjusting the input settings to optimize them to your pickups and “running the ATD hot” was really an eye opener. Before, I just thought I was hitting a limit on how good the modeling could sound because it sounded a little flat. But all your sounds are really dynamic and tube-like.
I’m glad I waited it out till this showed up. Wonderful unit to achieve your sounds in your head.
First of all, thank you for your clear explanation.
I have also had the GX-100 for a while, but first used it mainly as an effects processor together with a tube amplifier: 4 cable method.
Lately I've been playing via headphones via my MacBook pro model 2021. And then using the amps and the speaker simulation in the Gx-100.
However, I connected these via USB. Then I have a stereo signal with effect and a "stereo" without signal treatment. In your video and also in other videos I see that you use the line-out on the left and right. Are there any advantages compared to USB use? Because then the analogue-to-digital conversion takes place in the audio interface. Compared to the USB method, the signal is then converted twice. Can you explain the advantage of one method versus the other?
After this video, if i take any new equipmen,t this boss gx 100 will be it ……hmm you play music like crazy….in positiv way i say ……..great style and feel to it
Is this a true stereo unit
This is one of the most versatile devices I’ve ever used since I started playing guitar in 1985. I already had several BOSS pedals and a BOSS Katana 100W Combo, adding the GX-100 really made a world of difference. The boost it provides to the amp output is incredible. It was louder than the Marshall 4X12 in the practice space. Incredible sound from this smaller device and I can always go direct at a venue without the D/I box if I know their setup (output options are incredible).
It is 15 February, 2024 as I comment. For the last few months, I was meditating on getting the GT-1000 Core (including your reviews of it, Tom). Only today, I learned that this unit was available at the same price, exchanges a few features I might not use (both inputs and stereo effects loops) for features I might prefer (multiple foot switches, exp. pedal and touch screen) and is only slightly less portable than the Core. Now, I need to sleep on it.
Being an American musician, I enjoy the sound of you calling them tube amps, though I’m accustomed to people from Britain, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland calling them valve amps. Weren’t they always called vacuum valves?
What's a "dumbely vibe'?
what is recommended when plugging into two Deville amps via preamp in….should i set the output to match the speaker type. Which is 112? also will i need to turn off modelling for all my factory patches? and lastly the input gain for multiple guitars…will i need to specify the guitar per patch?. Sorry for all the questions…just want to get it right 🙂
This is the way to do reviews of this kind gear. You all know how hard it is to find pertinent information that will help decide whether or which piece to buy and when you’re dealing with .5-1K$ it’s worth spending the time learning before you buy, rather than having your time wasted by self promotion.
Thanks for getting straight into it and not wasting our time. Truly appreciate it and now realizing i still have time to swap out my Headrush for this unit. BOSS is the boss.
