unpopular opinion: guitars with extended range should ALWAYS have fanned frets. Always. If you don't then you will end up with a thumb thick string on the deepest part

Agile guitars have been making 9 and 10 string guitars for more than a decade now. The thing that irritates me about Ibanez guitars (even though I own a few) is that the necks feel great, but damn it! You have to be extra careful with the highest and lowest strings on most of them because they slip off the neck due to the small width compared to the string spacing. Steve Via uses this as an effect, but damn it!! I would prefer a wider neck than to put up with that annoyance. Play basic licks, and it's not so bad, but skipping and large intervalics… there I said it. I have played Ibanez guitars for many years, but it is outright stupid..
