Nah, Muff into TS wins for me, tone 2 is boring.
If you put the tube screamer last, you'll be hearing mainly tube screamer. And no one wants to hear a tube screamer

Some people use a ts after the muff bc the muff cuts a lot of mids and thins out. This way it stays thick. Josh from jhs did a video about this.

Overdrive before fuzz is ALWAYS the way. Fuzz pedals love a strong signal and will do more the hotter input. It's like a diesel engine. More fuel more better

An overdrive can be a boost, with some optional gain. That's mostly how I've been using my Boss SD1 lately.

YES. A big muff style fuzz doesn't always have to come first. They are more complex than a fuzz face or other early fuzz models.

Makes sense. If the muff scoops all the midd before the TS, its really hatd to get them back.
Both sound like shit. The amount of volume and gain is interfering with standard operations

double track the recording: one with OD first, the other with pedals swapped. mix them to taste.
I like using fuzz as almost a boost into OD, so I keep the basic color of the tone the same. I’m not going for Doomy stuff like this tho… more classic rock, lead guitar stuff.
I always put the Tubescreamer after distortion or fuzz. The TS just has a tendency to swallow up everything after it and make it sound like a TS, too.
I prefer the fuzz first. It’s pretty QOTSA lead sounding
Or just do whatever you want because there’s no such thing as a correct way to use pedals
I've never managed to get a muff sounding good through an overdrive. Always creamier before it.
I know the first way is inherently wrong, but i kinda like the wierd ass sound it produces
A Overdrive is essentially an *over*powered boost, I don't know what possessed people to start putting it after a muff.
Where would the reverb go in that line?
