anyone got a preset for this that i can download?
so you need 1200$ worth of pedals, cool
It was not Zender!
That weathered pbass looks so damn sexy…
Well…I need a gate! That's what's been missing! The perfectly clean stops and starts with aggressive fuzz aint really possible without one!
That was the tone minutes of Allison !!
I think that Zender don't do it. It was the 99 album. Syncronized, Zender was out of Jamiroquai before that album.
It’s got what it takes!
Lol the colors of the fake pedals bother me. Purple for fuzz? Are you crazy? That’s envelope filter color
Wasn't it played by the Synthesizer?
Which pedal is he using?
I have a couple synth pedals that will do just this, however the tracking is terrible. Better off making the same sounds with multiple pedals. Synth is really just a combination of effects, such as octave, fuzz, chorus and compression, even with keysboards. Its a pain in the ass to have to step on multiple pedals but the sound, tone and tracking is always better with dedicated pedals set right. I have a few expensive synth pedals but they all take your signal and completely make it their own. Out of 20 something basses they all sound the same through a dedicated synth pedal because the pedal only takes your note pitch (given it can accurately process it) and spits out its own sound. Doesn't matter if im playing a rickenbacker or a p bass or a fodera or alemebic its going to sound the same and not reflect the particular bass personality or my own technique, not to mention the aforementioned tracking limitations that wont pick up hammer ons, slides or muted percussive nuances that make a bass line come alive ???? ive taken my synth pedals off my pedalboard and have learned how to get the same sounds with individual pedals. You could use a synth pedal to play Herbie Hancocks Chameleon but its better with an octave, slight overdrive and phaser. Also listen to Tony Levins sledgehammer bass line. He was literally using octave, slight overdrive, and chorus to mimic synth bass in a time when bass players were losing their studio gigs to synth bass. He nails it quite nicely at that ????
Shit is so stupid sounding ????
This is awesome definitely adding this to my stomp
I will now only be calling Ian, TONE ALLISON????
????????????
Good morning guys, when I started in bass, one hand was on The Beatles and the other was on Grand Funk Railroad back in ’73. Through the years and pedals later, I was never close to get that superb distortion bass tone of Mel Schacher. Ian, can you please give me a hand…..????
Thank you in advance !!!
Respect
I would use a Korg RK-100S 2. ????
So funny bass players think any of that is making the mix any better
Probably BF3 and/or KP3, but I'll need to screw around with them & see…
Keep making these!
Maybe include the level settings on your knobs, or a rough estimate of them?
I love these. Nice add w visual. Ty guys
Close. But I feel like the Bass is cut to much
How do get that synth bass from me.oysterhead
I think the original was double tracked with both: a synthesizer, and a bass guitar running through a digitech synth wah
Why do I have to get this sound out of the bass?!! I think it's easier to do it electronically
So having spent 1200 on my Markbass Amp and Cab i need to spend hundreds more on all those pedals? Sod that.
Was the original recording played on synth? Or was bass played through various effects as you discuss here? Whichever it’s a great bass line ????
Cool. Unfortunately, I don't own a single pedal. Or bass amp. Or electric bass. The only tone tool I have is a hairband around the strings on the bridge to mimic felt.
How sound the slap on this tone?
Sounds like comp. Which sounds good but never cuts through.
Seems to me that just a good, well set fuzz would be more than enough
