Been playing bass for 22 years now still struggle to double or triple thumb. Even tried to follow videos from the master Victor Wooten and I think it’s just one of those muscle things you gotta do 10000000x times before it starts to sound good

Practice it on a classical guitar. Strings won’t fight you and there’s some space in between. Once you’re comfy, switch back to bass.
I figured out double thumbing by using the same theory as using a pic. Your thumb literally is the pic.

I… do not consider myself a great bass player. At all. One thing that surprisingly helped with double thumb was a ramp! I'm still terrible at double thumb, but now I'm slightly less terrible.

It's the same for me, I always thought it had to do with the way my thumb is shaped because I have very wide nails. In any case, I think it helps to have thinner strings and lower action, both of which I don't like. Plus none of my favourite bassplayers actually uses the technique..

If can't you do something focus on what you can and tell yourself that that thing they're doing is another gimmick. It'll probably be forgotten soon enough. Sounded like the dipstick lick on steroids to me. I can't imagine where you'd use it.
