It's unbelievable how ppl let things reach this level of dirt. I do that to my guitar every three months or so.
relic has been destroyed
How do you get into restoring guitars? Do you just wake up one day thinking, I bet I could clean this up

You didn’t clean the pick guard?
One of my favorites ❤
Superb
After watching this, I csan't wait to get home and get to my work bench. I'm working on Jazzmaster build right now. Oxblood red JM body. Cream pickguard. White pickup covers, knobs, and switch tip. Roasted flame maple neck with a rosewood 9.5" board. Graphtech nut. Vintage Fender tuners. Fender Jazzmaster trem with a Mustang bridge. Fender Pure Vintage 65 Jazzmaster pickups. I have a Fender Modshop Jazzmaster maple neck with a rosewood fretboard and a reversed headstock that I'd like to use, but this guitar calls for the darker roasted maple. Just wish the headstock was pointing the wrong way like the Modshop one. So, I gotta quit typing and get home and get back to work. This video has the juices flowin.
No aluminum lining?

Genuine question…should the intonation not be measured and set from the playing position and not laying flat on the bench?

Swimming pool in a US Strat ? ????
The pickguard is now yellow????
You just dropped in a roller nut and nothing shows any modifacation of the nut slot. The distance between the contact point of the string on the roller and each of the frets is therefore different than the stock distance between the edge of the nut and the frets. The guitar would therefore never tune correctly except on an open string unless you widened the nut slot on the fretboard side so as to put the high point of the nut the same distance from the first fret as the stock nut's bridge (fretboard) edge – the contact point of the string. You may have done this and just omitted it from the video as it is a multi step process, but one cannot just drop it in. Plus, the slot usually has to be deepened. Lots of tutorials. This is the most concise. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/i_4GrRkCEXY The modification is needed even if the nut is the same width.
Wow! A LEGITIMATE guitar restoration video on social media! Awesome work. Thanks for sharing!
Excellent job except for the fact that the fretboard is still all messed up.
