Is it a Phaser? Chorus? Or something else entirely? THERMION POWERVIBE
In this video, I demonstrate how despite saying “Chorus” on the pedal, the Vibe circuit might be something else entirely. Many claim that it is a Phaser, a Chorus and I’ve even heard it described as a sort of Harmonic style tremolo. So, to help determine this, I’ve pinned up the Powervibe against two of my best modulation pedals: an early to mid 80’s Ibanez CS9 and a Vahlbruch 6-Phi-4 Phaser.
I’m running through the Thermion Freeway amp, known for its amp-like response and exceptional clarity. The guitar that I am using is a Fender Telecaster.
This demo is all about sound—no talking, just tone. If you’re curious about how Powervibe differs from the a chorus, phaser or tremolo, or want to hear how the Powervibe stacks up in a real-world setup, this one’s for you.

???? What is it?
Let me know in the comments! I'll admit, I think that the Uni-Vibe circuit is its own thing. It can sound like other effects, but it is a unique sound.

It says to 'use the Chapter to hop around the video' but there aren't any…
In this style of guitar… I like it! Makes me want to go grab my strat. Whatever they're doing, sounds good.
If keep watching anymore guitar videos, I'm going to end up buying the Johnny Marr Jaguar!
