Guitar of the Day! Fender has revealed what might just be the coolest Stratocaster ever. Ariel Posen’s signature is essentially a Strat/Jazzmaster fusion (a Stratmaster… if you will lol), including even the pickups that were custom-voiced to capture and combine the best elements of both. Love the “Refined Partscaster” vibe, and hopefully this gets an affordable production run, too!

Leo's vision was that guitars would be build of easily service and replaced parts… Having said that; get yourself a good strat neck and body, install a set of pickups of your choice and preference and off you go! No need to have a custom shop build for this… you can do this!

Just make one yourself. Get a Strat body for 400 bucks. Or get one from someone who makes Strat bodies and necks at the same scale but affordable prices. You want that colour? Find the hex code, get an air compressor and paint it. Get a blank pickguard, cut it to P90 shapes and all the holes for the control stuff. Then bang it all in. You’re good to go

I’d be interested in trying the pickups, as I love p90s and these sound like a new flavour – wouldn’t ever drop that kind of coin on a guitar though

That’s nice! As a rule, I can’t stand aged guitars because so often it’s an inauthentic pastiche of someone else’s guitar. But, apart from the aged hardware, all the aging on this one seems to be for a purpose. Actually, maybe the hardware makes it easier on the hands as well?
Not a big Fender player (basses aside) but this is really nice.
Do I think about dropping the price of a second hand car? Maybe. Maybe. I’ve never considered buying a guitar for more than five thousand bones before.
They should make a squier version of this, imagine how well itd sell!
