Jon, I a little late, but was interested in the nut file set you recommended. When following the link, in the description it states, "The edges are square cut, not rounded." ????
Matthew you are correct. Jon, you are romanticizing the guitar when it is merely only a tool. Nothing more. Stating that having too many guitars is no longer about the music and calling that proof is ridiculous. That's not proof, that's opinion. You cannot quantify that without actual data.
I have 5 guitars and i feel like i have too many. Just keeping up with string changes is insane, forget about maintenance/repairs. 1 is enough, 2 if ur 1 is a Les Paul, because it might break, but thats it.
I hear you about cases. Back in ‘71 for my 11th bday my folks got me a Norma violin shaped base. The store threw in a cheap case ($10) because I was taking lessons from them. A couple of years later, in ‘73 I was in a band and my father bought me Ric 4001 for $350. The case cost an extra $50. I had to pay for that with savings from my allowance. Sub $1k today you might be lucky enough to get some kind of gig bag (infinitely better than my $10 case). But not until you’re over $1k you ever see a hard shell case.
"less fret wear" lol. I thought I was the only one that deeply in denial.
The AI ads are honestly corny as hell. "Ears on every wind". ????
The formula for how many guitars you need, The number of guitar you currently have +1????
My experience about cases is the exact opposite of what you were saying. Guitars used to come with cases and now less often do.
A pair of Throbak SLE 101+ Humbuckers will make you realize you only need one guitar.
You both make a point but I suppose there is a scenario where it becomes gluttonous but as a recording artist i do like to having a variety of tones to choose from. Some people collect cars some people collect guitars and some people collect both. Some people may collect them and aren't even a player so to each their own I will say having had many guitars now it has educated me quite a bit.
Then they should stop making guitars ????
Did I tell you guys the story about the 1956 Fender Esquire that I found under a bed in 1994? A very nice memory
It has been said that as the boomers die, the guitars and amplifiers will flood the market and drive prices down dramatically.
I hope that I live long enough to take advantage of this
I'm definitely going to show my wife this video, you guys have perfectly encapsulated why I need so many guitars
my MusicNomad files have a rounded bottom per string gauge. I don't have enough experience to make any claims about the pro/cons of them.
I only need 1 more…
I will watch this later. But, just like tattoos? You can’t have just one. I think it’s even worse for guitarist. ????????
