I got this pedal from a company called TOMTOP in China. I’ve searched all over the web and this place has it for the best price. You can choose to order it from their US warehouse for , or, if you’re patient, you can order it direct from china for only! wow that’s a cheap pedal. and when I unboxed it, I could see why:
This is a Boss tuner pedal.
This is a TC nano compressor pedal
This is the Ammoon nano looper pedal
Come to think of it, how do you even pronounce that? it’s got two M’s, Am-moon? maybe thats five N’s? AN-n-n-n-n-ooon?
anyway, the point is: really little price…really little pedal. really really weird name.
Here’s the specs:
This pedal just has two controls: a volume knob, and a foot switch. The foot switch is actually a multi function switch depending on how you use it, you can tap it once, double tap, or hold it down, and each way has a different function. The volume controls the playback volume of your recordings. Despite being such a cheap pedal, it boasts a big feature: Tru-bypass.
Also included in the box are instructions in both chinese and [almost] english, as well as a micro USB cable. Despite the poorly translated english instructions, it’s actually pretty well explained how to use the pedal. What’s not explained well, is how to use the USB cable. The instructions just say “Use to import file to the box or export file from the box, and also use to upgrade fireware of the box.” What the heck is fireware? I don’t know, but I guess I’ll never know, because I connected this thing to my computer and it does nothing…and I couldn’t find any information online on how to upload files to or from this thing, or how to update the fireware. Maybe firewear is a type of lingerie I need to buy for my wife…(sounds kinda hot actually!) At any rate, this thing is probably just not Mac compatible. “Hey I have an idea, let’s make an awesome pocket sized effects pedal, and not make it compatible with the best platform for writing and recording music…or creativity in general.” Ball = dropped. Maybe that’s why it’s called fireware…because they had to fire the guy that designed the software…
Okay enough talking, let’s hear this thing:
insert demo
pretty good right?
now I’m going to break down exactly what I did here so you can see all the features this pedal has to offer:
Tap once to start recording, tap again to stop the recording, and this actually starts playback of the loop.
Tap once to start recording the next layer, no need to wait till the start of the loop, just tap it and it will automatically start the recording when the loop comes back around. Tap again after the loop is over to save that layer of recording. You can record an infinite amount of layers until the pedals memory runs out, up to 10 minutes of recording. That’s actually pretty impressive. if you record a layer and mess up, or just decide you don’t like it, you can erase the last layer by holding down the switch for 3 seconds. If you deleted the last layer and then decided you want it back, you can bring it back by holding the switch again for 3 seconds. Also, if you don’t stop your recording after the loop restarts, you can continue to record more layers each time the loops starts over.
To stop playback, just double tap the switch. All layers of the recording loop are still saved to the memory, and you can bring it back anytime by tapping the switch once. To erase the recording so you can make a new one, just stop playback, then hold down the switch for 3 seconds. You’ll hear playback while you’re holding the switch, but once it stops, the recording is erased, and you’re free to start the recording all over again.
All these controls sound confusing, but it’s actually really simple, and becomes second nature after a couple minutes of playing with it.
Pretty dang good right? I would’ve never thought that such a small pedal for such a small price would be able to do all this.
So to summarize:
Things that are cool:
Size, this thing is tiny! (is that a pedal in your pocket or are you just happy to see me? it’s a pedal actually, now go away creeper)
Tru-bypass
Full function looper pedal-with all the features you’d expect from much larger big name pedals
like: unlimited overdubs and up to 10 minutes of recording.
cheap price (and you get all this for the price of mowing your neighbors lawn!)

thanks for the review, am new to this Looper thing and I can't seem to get it to erase to start from scratch, any advice would be helpful
FirmWare I assume instead of Fireware.. Hey only one letter difference.
how long the loop can play?
mine is showing both a green and a red light at the same time… how do I fix it?
Your teach good ????
mine doesn’t erase it all howww
Really, i Don't know how to use looper, my head so dizzy how to used.
Great review , was very helpful. You had me cracking up!
How does the looped recording come off the pedal ( USB ? >>>> ) so as to be saved to a Comp etc etc ? LOOKS Good Ta 🙂
I've had mine and it was soooo noisy. I changed power so many times but just was too noisy. Second day it had a puff of smoke. Dangerous and unreliable. Pretty much everything Chinese.
Hey! Do I need a fx loop in the amp to play using such a toy?
Cool review. BTW, it is pronounced Ammo on
Awesome review bro !
The Chinese would probably say “Ah Moon” The “Fire Ware” means the embedded Firm Ware. Fire, electric or lightning might be the describing word in the Chinese instructions. Depending on which version, you use the USB cable to connect it to the computer and get or put your recorded soundfiles, loops from the unit. Useful for composing songs, sketch pad on your travels.
I bought the ammoon pock-drum pedal. I will never waste my money on another of their products. Are the instructions incoherent or is the pedal defective? I guess they leave that decision up to the buyer. i say its both.
Anyone know how the hell you reset your loop? I can't figure it out at all
Too much talk
I've had three ammoon pedals, including this one.
They dont last. Taking one on a gig would be a bad idea.
And the usb function is non-existent.
Guns & Guitars? lol. Gimme a break.
I ordered one, thanks Dan
I'm here actually bec of the poor translation!???????? Thanks!
Sera que serve para baixo?
all things advertise true bypass, and it's all a lie when we know what bypass means
Fireware…lol
At aliexpress is down on the bottom from the pedal a manual how to install the software. Rob
Ive never had a loop pedal, this feels like a good one to get first. Really good review and video
Its firmware probably
The app and the usb connect suck – basically don't exist/don't work. You need the "looper suite" – but he's right – it doesn't work with macs. The dumb demo produced by the manufacture shows him using windows. The pedal itself is great. The sound is perfectly acceptable for a quick loop. I dumped my Ditto X2, loved the price and space saving on my board, used the extra $ to buy a nice reverb, but I felt like I was the one getting played when I tried to load my sweet sample into my laptop.
As soon as I saw your wanker pistol, you've lost me mate. What a shame.
So, it works EXACTLY like a ditto looper. I lost mine in between practices, and I am going immediately to buy it. The only downfall may be the hum that comes with cheaper gear, but a noise reducer and eq pedal can help that. Buying one, now.
Maybe learn how to play guitar first ?
Good review ????
That sigh was priceless!
Sounds like when layers start building on this pedal, it turns into a distorted mess
I have this little pedal, I love playing around with songs, but I'm finding when I'm trying to loop there's a slight 1/2 sec pause before it plays what I've been playing. Is this all to do with timing ect. Or is it me
muy buena tu explicacion
Thank you so much for the awesome review/demo, really entertaining unlike most reviews on the net! Keep it up!
Fireware = firmware, a simple typo I suspect. That's not a bad spelling mistake by your WestAtlantica standards! :^D
You asked for confirmation on this. The USB upload facility DOES actually work – sort of. It is just incredibly temperamental (poorly designed?) which means, in my case, it is very v–e–r–y slow!!! It takes over 50 seconds to just appear as an app when I run it up despite showing in the process list immediately. This would seem to be due to the problem of identifying the correct device in the USB table. If I run the software up it appears in a couple of seconds. Plugging the pedal in then means a wait of only a couple more seconds before it is linked up.
The interface is odd. It only seems to work with a single file at a time which it calls "Song 001" even though there is a full large listbox in the app with space for dozens. I can't get rid of Song 001 and anything I have managed to upload seems to then be called Song 001 the same. However, that may just be my inexperience with it. Uploading a file to the pedal takes an a-a-a-a-a-a-age and there seems no way to see that it is actually working other than the circling pointer and the "Not Responding" message in the app or by delving deeper into Windows.
You can see that something is happening as there is CPU activity showing for LooperSoftware in Task Manager. In my own case, with a full number backing track to upload it took over 30mins to do nothing but churn round and round in a greyed out state and then it suddenly gave me a green progress bar which seems to be the actual upload. I would suspect there could be some sort of pre-upload formatting or conversion going on here which takes the time. Google Chrome became active at the same time! Is there some sort of communication with Ammoon Home Base going on too? Upload of the file was still slow and then took about 5mins.
[EDIT: I've just checked this with a smaller 5 sec clip from a track. This took about 10secs to process and 15secs to upload. Slowly seems to be the way it works.]
So tips? Start the app before hooking up the pedal. Use the shortest clips possible in small files. Be prepared to go and do your monthly shopping while it is actually working! A watched kettle never boils.
Like most of these cheaper items, the item may be very good value but the corners are cut on supporting software.
