Kali Audio’s IN-8 has been heralded as one of the most accurate powered studio monitors in its price range, and the second-wave version ups the ante with a new amplifier platform, improved transducers, and an upgraded cabinet. The IN-8 V2 uncovers every detail in your mix — it’s brutally honest. Nothing is boosted or attenuated to mask flaws or spice up its sound, so what you hear is what you get.

In addition to a ruler-flat frequency response, the IN-8 V2 exhibits negligible levels of distortion, ample headroom, and impressive low-end extension for an 8-inch speaker. This speaker’s coaxial design boasts directivity that surpasses any non-coaxial speaker, enveloping your entire room in a uniform soundstage. Its low-noise port tube yields clean, punchy bass. And thanks to its boundary compensation EQ, it sounds great in a myriad of environments. The IN-8 V2 includes an integrated Class D power amp, along with balanced XLR and TRS inputs, and an unbalanced RCA input.

At the end of the day, the Kali Audio IN-8 V2 is a studio monitor that you can trust.

The IN-8 V2 offers ultra-transparent sound reproduction, enabling you to hear every detail of your mix. This starts with an exceptionally accurate frequency response. What’s more, this studio monitor employs larger magnets and voice coils than others in its class, resulting in super-accurate low-end response and impressive low-frequency extension.

The IN-8 V2 empowers you to mix with confidence. Once you dial it in on a set of these monitors, it will sound great everywhere.

  • How do these compare to the Kali LP-6v2? The v2 seem to measure better and rank higher in the spin data. I'd get a sub with either for electronic music.

  • @Producelikeapro Hi. You have reviewed both the IN-8 and the IN-5 speakers, if you see this comment how would you compare them, especially with respect to mid-range clarity? I really want good, honest mid-range for mixing, and while the IN-8 is a better speaker I'm worried it might be a bit large for my space. I'm having real difficulty choosing between them, any comments you can add would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • I'm using APS Klassik 2020, from Poland, in my main home studio. But I use a pair of these in my project/rehearsal studio. The APS are physically a little better built, physically (better braced, damped, more sturdy, controls and connections feel sturdier) and the bass is tighter/more even, as they are barely ported. But for a little over half the price, the Kali IN-8 v2 overall sound holds up very well, and are absolutely killer sub 1000. I use the Kali IN-8 v2 with Ferrofish Pulse 16, and a bunch of Audient ASP800 pres. It's a really good value setup, and very expandable up to high channel counts. The Kali IN-8 v2 gives me reliable 3-way monitoring for incredible price. The Ferrofish has 16 line inputs, for synths, 4 ADAT inputs, and can be expanded with MADI or DANTE. At 50 eur a channel, unbelievable power and flexibility for the price, is reliable and sounds good too. Same with the Audient ASP800, with mic pre colour options, and great sounding clean clear preamps that work out 80eur per channel.

  • I have a pair of ns-10s and a pair of large dual 12” in wall mains (very flattering) I need a set of ultra flat-accurate pair of modern monitors in between those. I love the ATC’s but I want spend less then $1500 a pair. would these be a good fit on a $1500/pair budget?

  • Can you cut the BS and just get into it? You can't actually hear them until halfway through the video.

    "And these are really good"

Have you ever had a video where you said these are really bad?

The sound kind of mid-range to me but without a frequency response graph I guess there's no way to tell.

  • Fantastic video mate. How do I calibrate it to the room? Is that any such feature? Isnt this is very important? I dont believe the tuning feature give the same results as calibrate a speaker for a room?

  • I've always wondered are they Class D amps for the speakers of Class AB. Seems due to size constraints they would be Class D. One for each driver I believe. But, I wonder about passive 3 way studio monitors ran off a good lass AB amplifier instead if that wouldn't improve things more. I really so far tend to prefer passive or active speakers. But being Tri-Amped instead of using a crossover is a really good way to go I hear. lol These do sound good with decent headroom I think. Balanced, pure very neutral. The bass isn't bad either, but I probably would want a subwoofer because so many people use them today and if you are mixing I think that's important. Yeah, the Kali's probably make some good home speakers too.

  • I wouldn't want to mix, or record, or even listen to music at home on anything less than 3 way speakers. Yes there are some good 2 way speakers, but I'm still not sod except for maybe bookshelf or rear surround speakers. But what speakers are facing me need to be 3 way speakers. Right? Sometimes, sometimes you can find good 4 way speakers if the 4th speaker is a midbass speaker and not a tweeter or "supertweeter" whatever the hell those are. lol. (you can get good tweeters that go up to 40KHz and that's really all you need, just one good tweeter matched to the other speakers.)

  • I've had the LP8's V2 and was not happy with them, if I had a full mix and an element had a small reverb on i, it totally got lost, how do the IN8 compare in that regard? Anyone?

  • I find my Yamaha HS8s to be too bright with the high end – I get instant Listening Fatigue, like the highs are shredding my ears.
Turning the dip switch down -2dB and moving further away hasn't helped

    What to get instant?
    Adam Audio with ribbon tweeter?
    HS8 ZenPro Edition?
    what else???

  • Appreciate all you do, I feel like speaker reviews are all the same. Which usually consists of the reviewer owning nicer high end monitors. Feel like a speaker review should consist of a mix that was done on their own set of speakers and then a mix done on the review. Seems like the only way we would get an understanding of how these translate? I know we can always just buy and return but that’s a pretty toxic footprint we need to get out of. Saying all this as i am searching for a proper 8” monitor solution without a sub. Again thank you for the video the continued information you share it’s appreciated more than you know.

  • I've been using presonus eris e44's for the last few years and I gotta say, I couldn't be less satisfied with my monitors. I'm looking for something new, less muddy and smeared sounding and something that can reach lower frequencies. Looks like I'm gonna be spending 800 bucks here pretty soon…

  • Hello Warren! I was wondering, I’m not very worried about the money since neither are very high but with the LP line and the IN line. What is your favorite to work on?
