11:43 lick is pure Freddie King. I use all the time.i would add that I’m a 65 yr old guitarist that hails from the south side of Chicago. I was weened on Chicago blues as pup guitarist. This video was awesome to watch and just fun watching another teacher talk about what I talk about all the day long.
Is that verb from the Ox? You captured the live verb sound from those old records.
Legit.
Marvellous lesson! Thanks a lot!! ????
I have a question. Please, Is Freddie Robinson a great Chicago Blues guitar player, too? How to learn to play like him? I love his Style playing, but I could not find any course, or material on his licks, etc. Thanks in antecipattion.
you just make that guitar literally Sing such woody tone, chirping like John Cordy does. I can tell your callouses are just Right, the Tone under the fingers. JUST Stunning. There are some really stunning players on Youtube.
Wow!! That first vibrato note at 2:53 is 100% Otis Rush!! You nailed it! I'm going to really really enjoy this lesson ????????????
Wow! Very nice playing. Love the notes and love the tone!!!!!!
Sent this lesson on to all my guitar pals with this simple note: Can we just say that just about everything necessary in the universe is herein collected.
Alex, what changes to this technique would I make for the key of B flat (Bb7, Eb7, F7)? We're doing Sweet home Chicago in Bb (Bb7)?
Jesus, where have you been all my life? Amazing tutorial and fabulous phrasing. Thanks!
Amazing playing and sound! Just curious, what is your recording secret?
Appreciate the lack of obligatory pained guitar face
Now I'll forever feel sad whenever I review this cool Chicago blues lesson around the 1:30 mark, Alex. Jim C.
That’s excellent interpretation of Chicago blues.
Tasteful!!!
Yeah this vid is now my navigating star to the blues. Whenever I got some time I come here to learn the next step. So so good. Will easily keep me on track for years to come. Thanks you very much Alex
sweet
great sound and groove. nice modern runs too
jeeez man thats so tasty
As much as I always love your latest and greatest lessons, A.F…….I can't help myself here but come back to this absolute gem of a lesson, shelve my Martin for a while and get out the ES 335 to attempt to emulate you here absolutely channeling the late and great BB!! I get goosebumps! Absolutely my fav lesson you've carefully crafted together for us here, Alex!! Jim C.
Do the materials for single gumroad lesson include a backing track?
That was great!!!
I feel blessed to have found your channel, it is an absolute treat, cannot even tell you how much I love your work.
What a great lesson. As a subscriber and Patreon member, I can't believe the value I get from your lessons, Alex. You are a literal goldmine of information and tasty moves and grooves! Thank you so much.
I like the cat.
I like your costume and your guitar
Nicely played, def has a Rush/Bloomfield vibe about it. You've created some nice content for budding bluesers – only criticism is that most of it is too perfectly played ! You need some slop and mistakes in there ! ????
Mike Bloomfield was perhaps at his sharpet/clearest in The Electric Flag – try the album "A Long
Time Coming" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNHgLgG7AuY%5D
cheers!!
Hi Alex, thank you for all your good tips and vibes, do you plug your guitar in a amp or direct DAW ? you sound like tube amp.
????????????????????
I love watching your stuff right when I’m supposed to be going to sleep. I always grab the guitar next to the bed for a few minutes and then get pissy I can’t stay up and play.
This solo is awesome. I bought this one on gumroad. Do you have the backing track only? The one in gumroad is the recording of your solo.
Another one I definitely have to come back to and work hard, for sure ????
So sweet!!!!
Yeah this is the HOT STUFF!!! Great lesson and Sound!!!!
Unfazed by cat! The mail must get through!!
Chicago blues
TASTY!
Very cool lesson Alex! Great to see good, authentic blues covered. Maybe a bit cheeky, but I have a few blues backing tracks I'd be happy for you to use and promote… if you're interested! ????????
BB, Greeny, Bloomfield, Freddie rule. You captured it. Brilliant.
Awesome lesson on blues soloing! full of important points to sound really bluesy, thank you so much from south of Spain!
Alex.
Thanks for the Mickey Baker tip!????
First bend in the lesson I heard a Otis Rush vibrato ????
Sei un grande musicista. Con un gusto ed un tocco meravigliosi. Grz
