Definitely not worth any more money than a 5150 costs. Not near worth what they charge for it.
Where is sounding good?
While this is CLOSE to one version of the Mesa sound that was heard a lot in that era (it's too fizzy), I've learned that my favorite tones from the recto are not what most other people loved about it.
Box fest…You need to scoop the mids bro
I guess it's just not my thing
Mic sounds like its a mile away
Sounds pretty awful
Slightly better in a mix
Also I'd recommend picking up a Suhr Reactive load IR box( Dump using a mic ever again ) or if you're cheap pick up a Fried man Mic no more passive box, that turns your amplifier into a mic'd cab through that box.
P.s put your drums through a distressor in parallel for more punch
The fortin plugin sounds just as good
Dualrec = shit
Doesn't sound good.
Great tone. Vintage 30 speakers are by far the best speaker for the rectifier.
Is it just me or does that sound super thin?
Um…plug it in…done.
Dual rectifier + Orange cab is the best combo
im sure the rec sounds fine its just the mic placement you got wrong
It’s very simple, and while they will need to be slightly tweaked individually due to variances in tube types, tube color codes (YES, there is a tonal difference, despite the internet BS), tube age, voltage, etc… they pretty much universally can be adjusted to these settings and sound great. But you will need to really tweak them to your guitar and cabinet for fine tuning your sound. If you’re looking at the dials like a clock face, here’s the settings I run on my Rev-F, and most of my Rev-G’s (that aren’t dialed for specific pickups/guitars)…
Power set on Bold, and Rectification set on Silicon Diodes (not vac tubes).
Master Vol. on 9 o’clock, Pres on 11:30, Bass on 2 o’clock, Mids on 10 o’clock, Treb on 2 o’clock, gain 4:30-5 o’clock (almost maxed out, but slightly backed off to tighten it up).
Also, like he said, a Mesa 4×12 with Mesa-spec UK Vintage 30’s that are broken-in really helps to finish shaping the tone.
That is your quintessential late-90’s/2000’s super heavy and beefy metal tone with a 2-channel Recto (Rev-F & Rev-G).
Enjoy… ????????
Literally plug it in, knobs all at noon, MINOR tweaks and you should be close… maybe boost front end with a pedal of your choice. If it sucks, get a different cab. These amps are ridiculously easy to get sounding good fast
Generic but still amazing.
Just go all Orange and you won't need any extra anything.
Awful mix.
Needs less treble more mids imo
How to make a Rectifier sound good? Sell it and buy a Soldano
I prefer the sound of my Nueral DSP Fortin Nameless Suite
Maybe its the 2000s butt rock tones these were always associated with, but I always preferred the Marshall sound for high gain.
Jerry Cantrell had a very early Rectifier I think in the early 90s, and I always liked his sound.
Horrible sound. Never got to hear any good sound
Thought i liked mesa till i owned one way to much money imo for what it can do youre better off going 5150 or engl for high gain those both need alot less help to sound good
It sounds pretty boxy in my opinion
its actually not real hard. start with everything at noon then go from there. all depending on guitar and pickups
Tricks can gamble but shet
great video dude
