I have a Yamaha Revstar a Yamaha Piano, a Yamaha acoustic (35 years old) a Yamaha Tenera motorcycle and a Yamaha lawnmower. Not one of them has ever given me trouble.
The big problem is they have crap resale value. A guy I worked with on a temporary contract for a while bought one while he was in town, and wanted to sell it when he was leaving about a year later. He wanted to sell it for what he bought it for. I taught him about Reverb that day.
Having owned a Revstar and a handful of PRS SE models all under £1000 I can honestly the say the one I was the most impressed with is the Revstar.
Features are superb. The all round finish was excellent. Great playability, good tones. It was also £200 cheaper than most of the PRS SE models I preferred it to.
A solid used Revstar is possibly the best bang-for-buck guitar purchase you can make.
Yamaha makes a great axe. I encourage you to look into Schecter. I've played and owned many sub $1000 Schecters over the last 15 years, and, they're what Gibson used to be. And I own a VERY nice 2017 Traditional T. They make something for everyone.
No, Rhett is right. Yamaha builds excellent guitars, but its got a lot to do with the body style. There aren't any kids out there going "I gotta get me a revstar because my fave guitarist plays one!"
The PRS SE DGT is a great guitar for under $1000

Full Japanese version wayyyyy better.
Again 6 notes and a lip bite. I'm out. ✌
Don't know who you are
After all set-ups are done, the Revstar can not compete with an Epiphone Les Paul 50s, 60s or the 1959s

In New Zealand a squier classic vibe is $1200 and this is $2200….that’s why we don’t play them.
I don't know, the Epi 55 standard with p90's sounds awesome. No push pull though.
My first guitar was a Yamaha Pacifica pac012 and I still have/play it! Yamaha is very overlooked!

They're cool but the plastic nut spooks me. I would probably end up breaking it
harsh P90s? of course, right…?
Eh. For features and sound under a grand, PRS SE is way better.
Matteo Mancuso bringing a lot of attention to it
I only have good feelings about Yamaha but Epi Casinos are imposible to beat at that range

I like my Epiphone les paul custom and my schecter solo 6 more than the revstar . Thats why ????
Yamaha doesn’t have a lick of soul
Yamaha has always been good at providing excellent value and quality in low to mid tier instruments.
I bet these sound and play great… but they’re so unforgivably ugly I’d never be caught dead playing one.
Got the model down from this one as my first guitar for Christmas based on all the reviews from guitarist like you ????????
My first guitar was a Yamaha acoustic. Still have it and love it.

Grand piano's, amazing digital piano's….. you think they cant build awesome guitars?
Yamaha is an incredible company.
Their pianos rival any on the planet and they are phenomenal guitars just ask Marcel Marcel
I agree, Yamaha doesnt seem to market its guitars, basses and drums .
I have the exact same oneand absolutely love it. I agree! Best guitar for the money
got the chance to play one the other day, absolutely blown away by the quality
This guitar looks very cool, I’m a fender guy but this could sway me
My friend has one of the high end ones of these. Hands down one of the nicest guitars. Butter mate
PRS is better for the price
to me, squier jmjm
New Epi ES-335 > Revstar
Schecter Guitars enter the room… ????
Clearly a Yamaha ad, not an honest unbiased opinion. ????
