  • Ive always used D'Addario strings and they've lasted me months but that's my experience

  • The best strings are the ones that I can keep on my guitar the longest without one breaking & also staying in tune…longest time I've had the same set on my guitar is 8, maybe 9, years. & since it's electric guitar & most of what I play has a little to a lot of distortion, there's no real difference in the tone.

  • So you are not a fan of D'Addario strings because they "don't last long enough", but prefer Gibson strings. Gibson strings are made by D'Addario by the way.

  • Rotosound reigns supreme. Musicality of the tone with 3D feel in the mids is what I am after and these deliver.
Bending feel is second to none (highly subjective) and these things almost match the D'Addarios NYXL in durability.
So are the NYXL better? No. They sounds great and might last longer, but for the price Rotos are a no brainer.

Preferences differ however. I have even heard rumors of someone liking GHS strings.

  • Personally D’Addario has been my go to for acoustic for a while, but since I’m still new to electric I’m not seasoned enough to judge yet

  • I have fender 10's on my strat and whatever guitar center uses to replace strings on my tele. I started my journey playing on. The 10s bend better.

  • I usually use d'addario strings, sure they might not last as long as elixirs but if you clean them properly every time you play with fast fret string cleaner they will last a pretty long time

  • I respect that he actually gave opinions and wasn’t just like “ahhh it’s whatever you make of it.” A lot of reviews don’t actually reach conclusions. Yeah of course we can take your opinion or leave it, that’s why you give it at all.

  • Personally i use D'Addario, because they have the widest offering on single strings. None of the standard sets suits me, so i just order singles and create xustom sets that way.

  • With a pain in my heart for these strings, it's gonna have to go to Dr for me. On Acoustic, 1 Monday i got sent a few packs because i can't work, do to me being walker bound, i put Dr Dragon skin+ on my Alvarez Artist Elite 5220C, sounded gorgeous, but pulled them off 2 days after they sounded dead, muffled, i love me an EXTREMELY BRIGHT zingy strings, dr just didn't give me that. Titefits, same story almost

  • DR high beams are my favorite. I use their 9’s and tune a half step down. They feel and sound amazing and last pretty long.

  • I didn't even know those strings existed. But now I gotta try them. Also how about cleartone? I tried them once a long time ago and I remember them being good but my local guitar store didn't stock them and they were expensive to order
