  • Uhhh the push knob is not mid cut…it adds the front pickup in positions one and 2…so bridge and neck in position 1 or all 3 in position 2. Info is on Fenders site…plus I have one.

  • I think you have these pretty dialed except "Comfortably Numb". David used his red Strat with EMG pickups. I still have my first guitar mod, where the body and bridge are the only original parts has the EMG David Gilmour set with pickups and active tone controls. Aside from volume, it has an expander that boosts the highs and lows, and a mid boost.

  • Day Tripper riff was played on Geroge's Gibson ES-345,, possibly with some Varitone dialed in., and double tracked. One of the Sonic Blue Strats was used for the solo.
Best Strat tone after anything by Hendrix – Mark Knopfler on "Sultans of Swing".

  • You could totally expand this to other bands/artists/songs where the artist was using strat-STYLE guitars but had various tones. First one that comes to my mind is Kirk using a 3 pickup strat style esp in One. Both the clean parts, first clean solo then the gain added for the tapping end solo, just all make up the masterpiece of that song. Just cuz it isn't a fender doesn't mean it wasn't a classic tone in an era… So make a part 2? That would probably be an hour video ????

  • I don't care which one you pick, but I'm shocked not to see a Jeff Beck tone from a strat.

  • Should I get the player or player 2 strat? I like the maple neck. Any significant difference in tone? I hade a Mexican Strat I miss selling 25 years ago. I know player 2 has a rolled fretboard. Was looking at a squire vibe 60s but it sounded thin. Appreciate any help! Is there another brand Strat that’s cheaper and sound better? Thanks!

  • I got one. No need to talk about it, just start playing. Mind-blowing daemon. Love it and it's very sensitive.????

  • As much as you are a roll model of mine I must point out that only the Day Tripper Solo was a Stratocaster

  • Besides Buddy Holley, what brought the Strat to the forefront were instrumental Bands like the Shadows Hank Marvin and Ventures Gerry McGee.
