Awesome sound and playing!!!! Super Video Meister!! LG
Great review. I totally disagree that the lack of digital is a problem.
I’ve always wanted a midi controllable 3 channel analogue preamp pedal that can connect to a 1 or 2 channel amp to add channels so that you can have:
1) Clean
2) Broken up clean
3)Crunch
4) Lead
with the possibility to boost a lead sound all by just pressing one button each time.
Because most amps are 2 channel and non-midi this was impossible up until now.
This product is perfect!
Hey Two Notes, been recently getting back into tube based rackmount preamps. Think you can conjure up a nice Princeton or Twin sound in a 19" format like the torpedo live ?
Clean channel too lean . Too bad there isn't an effects loop for your eq.
Oh wait there is …….sshheeeesh.
I appreciate your thoughts, but it would not be a true analog device if it had a digital IR loader though.
The main reason to buy it is it is analog. Wouldn't make sense if it had a digital IR in it, i know i wouldn't buy it.
My local music store has one of these set up for trying out guitars with headphones. It sounds really good. And its also pretty easy to dial in nice sounds.
On it's own, the ReVolt was just ok for my purposes, but combined with the Opus and a stereo mini plug for midi, the ReVolt can do pretty much anything. I've got authentic Fender, Marshall, and Soldano sounds going to FOH and monitors. The boosts also can trigger a separate midi channel which I have programmed the Opus to be a few dB louder, therefore both more gain and volume. Even bypass is it's own midi channel so I set the Opus as a squeaky-clean Fender for that.
Adding a Klon – type pedal as a boost in front of it helps a lot as well.
And the price is right. I was able to buy two complete setups for just over what one Helix would cost.
They need to update the Captor with a USB-C port instead of all these shenanigans.
Good job on your honest review. I have one of these and although the internal analog sim sounds decent (just ok), the Revolt is WAY better not using the internal sim and using IR’s via Gnome etc. However, overall, the two driven channels kind of have this fizziness to them and the clean channel feels lifeless. I use a Les Paul type of guitar with Dimarzio PAF Masters. I can dial down the Treble knob on the driven channels, and that helps, but then it loses clarity. Maybe mine has a bad tube or something.
Come on.. its called the revolt. the revolt against digital and I am all for it.
you can get an ir multi-mod for Rockboard pedal boards and run any pedal through an IR.. and they are cheap and fit in the board.
they where waiting to put the opus out 🙂
#timepoint 15:40 I love the fact that they did not include the whole impulse joint into the box. It does keep the cost down and also "FOR ME" it yields a mighty lift of flexibility in how I can set up my rig, being that my two notes CAB is separate. They did #INCLUDE a really good speaker sim into it. However I think a more pressing matter is a shared EQ and Boost – #WITHOUT an ability to set and recall presets. then there is the issue with no noise gate. These are FAR MORE pressing issues and they could have remedied these issues #WITHOUT driving up the price 1 cent!!!!
It has the worst cab sim in the whole world i bought the opus and then i have the sound i do like
I tried this side by side with the iridium via headphones for practice machine use case and I thought I'd sounded rubbish, was very disappointed
I love his honesty
Great insight as usual. Gonna have to give it a try in my loop, can't have too many channels in one amp.
Hey what's up Henning Merry Christmas!!!
Any chance you have the lyrics for a "Beast Abandoned".
I asked you about the lyrics for "Standing Tall", as well and you said Adrian had them.
Can you find a way to post those?
I also wanted to say you're a huge inspiration to me.
Love you're guitar style!.
Hope to meet you one day.
I find the clean on the Revolt to be very weak and inferior to the Le Cean, so I'm selling the Revolt.
If you're going to use the real amp, you don't need this digital s….t
Even with a tube, the sounds very digital to me! I didn't like it!
@EytschPi42 you should shoot out the Two Note Revolt and the Lion '68 using the ox stomp. Yes, the Lion '68 has more features but they are evenly priced. I'd watch it.
I have a Fender M80 from the 1990s.
It has a massive 100w output, but the high gain channel is pretty dated.
This might be worth it to run into the FX return and just use the M80 as a power amp.
Would be able to extend the life of the amp
the revolt also comes with wall of sound the basic one.
Well if you already have a Two Notes IR loader than this would be fine as is. Maybe they should offer another model with the IR loader included, that way you have the best of both worlds.
I'm planning on getting one and combining it with a Plethora X5 and a BAM 200 amp through my 2×12 open back cab. I currently use an AX8 for preamps and effects, I find myself using 2 or 3 preamps anyway, would it be a step down?
Mad song at intro man. So good, I think it saying my mothers eyes but my dirty mind keeps thinking it’s mothers thighs hahaha such a great song though
I thought the Revolt might be made especially for me!
I play in a crappy covers band & all i'm looking for is a good Fender clean, Marshall crunch & Boogie lead tone with an FX loop.
I have a Mesa Boogie Mk V which I love but it stays at home because it weighs about the same as a small planet and for the last few years have been using a BluGuitar Amp1 for live which has been phenomenal. However….. The Amp1 failed and went away for months while it was being repaired and I started playing my other gear again and fell out of love with it and i've been looking for something with a similar foot print to replace it and maybe get some more functionality.
I got to play the Revolt at the UK guitar show and I liked the sounds. The lack of IR's although they would be useful didn't bother me as it'll go to a power amp (thinking about getting an Orange Pedal baby) and into my real cab behind me so I don't think it would really bother me.
But then when it came to parting with my money, I got offered a deal at the show for a Line 6 HX Stomp which should give me the 3 channels and have a Hell of a lot more options should I ever need it for not a huge amount of money more than the Revolt. So I bought the Stomp.
But I think I may have buyers remorse. Sure the Stomp is packed full of features, but I think the Revolt may have given me exactly what I needed in a far more user friendly package.
