How to fix your muting issues | Quick Tutorial for Beginner Bass Players
Fed up with unwanted noises while playing bass? Here’s a simple exercise to fix your muting issues.
When you pluck a bass string, other strings will vibrate as well and create frustrating sounds. To overcome this, developing a solid muting technique is crucial. Let’s begin with a focus on your fretting hand.
Start by playing the open E string. After each note, lightly touch it with your index finger to prevent it from ringing. There’s still some unwanted noise, right? Now, use all your fingers on the fretting hand to firmly mute the string. There we go, no more ringing or unwanted noise.
Practice this exercise on each string to achieve flawless muting skills. As you progress, you’ll notice a significant improvement in your sound quality and control. Follow for more videos!
