we did the Jaco version in my fusion ensemble a couple years ago, really wish i would have seen this video while learning it; so many cool lines i could have grabbed!

That is awesome. I just bought my first bass, a Fender P BAss "Butter Cream Yellow" ( I just love saying that) I've been playing guitar for 30 years and never in my wildest dreams would I be playing a Jaco tune. I may not have all the little phrases but I got the main theme. Great Tabs and the Mp3 is great to practice with. My neighbours are probably pissed its like 2 am and I played this tune like 50 times ..lol

why is the melody so weird?
Over the years I've listened to Mr. Scott always play so well and like, well as if he always has an ace up his sleeve… I just now noticed at 2:35 he was actually getting way with using it cause he's playin the S__t out this piece just having big bass fun as his true mofo self! so cool, so jazz to right.
SCOTT HAS high level of BLACK GROOVE THAN HIS LOOK : VERY IMPRESSIVE !! Good feeling !!! Very good !!! Very interesting how to play combining long ( walking basslike ) & very syncopal approach ( jazz funk) …
