  • Hi there, do you notice any difference when you play nighthawk with black label pickups vs. sandberg with Delano pickups? Thx for an answer 🙂

  • I've been a fan of Sandberg Bass Guitars in the last 8 years or more & i had seen a preowned Sandberg California II TMA Bass Guitar in my local Multi Instrument Store & i swear that once i pick it up i thought it had been made specifically for & the sounds were just amazing…

If you dont know this by now Holger Stonjek set up Sanderg Guitars to make bass guitars that were an homage to Leo Fenders Precision & Jazz Bass Guitar's but he wanted to make them the traditional non mass produced bass guitar's but instead bass guitars that were hand built as i think its safe to say his moto " Quality Over Quantity " & as Sandberg grew & grew so did his constant belief of building in low numbers & working with master luthiers who wanted to go back to having hands on when building their bass guitar's…

Gibson went under but someone managed to save them & to go back to serving what customers wanted & Fender was going the same & they had quite a few bad years of both bass guitar & lead & rhythm guitar being mass produced but the quality control at Fender had gone a long time ago & they too are having tk rethink their market strategy…

Meanwhile in Germany & out in the quiet country side Sanderg's Bass Guitars went from paying homage to Fender to becoming the go to company to buy your bass guitar & not only did they build bass guitar's as an homage to Leo Fenders 2 most famous basses being the Precision & Jazz but they had fast become the ones who built Fenders range of guitars better than Fender & its been an ongoing journey for Sandberg listening to those who buy their bass guitars , then taking that onboard , & contiuing to strive to make their bass guitars better as each year & decade past…

I had known of Sandberg for many years before buying one & this was because i completely turned my back on music & playing bass guitar for over a decade (& i do have a readon as to why) but once i left my experiences in the past i began to fall in love with just listening to music again & then eventually buying a Yamaha bass guitar to get me stsrted & boy was i needing to do a lot of practicing again as i played specific styles both with fingers & thumb…

This time i was playing purely for myself & for thd fun of it & it didnt take me long to get back to where i left off & i began to buy specific bass guitars & one day i visited my local Guitar Store & they had a preowned Sandberg California II TM4 Bass Guitar & from then on i was hooked…
Unfortunately i had to sell my preowned Sandberg as finacially i was struggling but once back on the level i did what i promised when i sold my first Sandberg 4 years earlier & that was to buy one back…

I can sit & wax lyrical til the cows come home but until you actually have a hands on play of any Sanderg Bass but for me it was specifically the Sandberg California II TM4 Bass Guitar that i preferred & i haf to get one back & i eventually bought a new one this time & again the quality control & sound are just spot on but i would emphasize that you have a hands on play first & that goes for any bass guitar or otger guitars as you need to do this to get a feel for the bass guitar & what fine in another's hands might not be in your hands but id be surprised if you didnt enjoy playing a Sandberg California II TM4 Bass Guitar & last year they released a 35th Anniversay Sanderg Supreme 4 Limited Edition & its another beauty ti look at but importantly it has a great range of sounds but im waiting on some going back in store as all the LTD Editions sold out quite quick…

So i contacted Sandberg & i was tild they stopped taking orders for that model by the end of 2021 but that there were still some to go out to vsrious countries across the world so i may get one afterall…
