Under $180.00 on Amazon now. I got the gloss finish for about $10.00 more. Very nice gig bag. Arrived setup well with perfect frets. I did lower the saddle a bit, but that is not a must-do. The strings that come on it are ok but I am looking to restring it soon. I hope they offer a upgraded one with a built-in pickup.
Which is the best in this? Satin or Gloss?
As a beginner guitarist who plays 3/4 and parlor sized guitars, I find that this Donner guitar sounds very nice for a hybrid instrument. I currently own a Taylor GS Mini as my only wooden guitar, and two of the highest end carbon fiber guitar brands on the market. I have a Klos all carbon fiber travel/parlor sized guitar, which is amazing and sounds great, and I have an X7 Parlor sized guitar from the Rolls Royce of all carbon fiber guitar brands, Emerald Guitars. Hybrid carbon fiber guitars make no sense to me as the main reason people buy a carbon fiber instrument is so they don't have to worry about warping due to temperature change, and for their near indestructibility. A hybrid guitar loses all those benefits if most of the body and neck are made of wood. So why pay a lot more money to have a carbon fiber top if it leaves the rest of the guitar vulnerable to temperature change and damage? All the carbon fiber instruments I own are full carbon fiber for that reason.
