Fingerstyle Freight Train – acoustic guitar sound good through a bass amp?

Waiting for the oven to warm up for the pizza, I thought I’d test out running the Takamine acoustic into an Ampeg bass amp. Recorded using the mic of the iPhone, which was on the amp so the bass was a bit boomy and I had to roll the bottom end off again EQing in Logic. (And the cicadas had to be tamed in the top end too!). I used an old Zoom GM-200 to add some reverb on the way into the amp. I’ve got a Taylor GT Urban Ash on order from Mooloolaba Music Centre, so hope to get my hands on that puppy soon to make some fingerstyle grooves!
I love this classic country blues song for the great travis picking underneath the melody. Written by the inspirational guitarist Elizabeth Cotton, who played left-handed and upside down. I first heard it from Tommy Emmanuel and then Mark Knopfler. My Mum used to have the Nancy Whisky vinyl of the song. Hope you like it too. ????
