  • The next album, also produced by Steven Wilson (porcupine tree, and other bands) is a double album. One, Deliverance, keeping all the songs with growls, and other, Damnation, with only this style of acoustic, soft rock ballad type songs, which are all amazing. Give it a try !

  • One of my favourite bands, and they are fantastic live if you ever get the chance (or just watch their Red Rocks, Roundhouse or Albert Hall recordings on YouTube). Opeth have eras…….their wiki page gives a very good description, but summarising Era 1 if full on melodic death metal, Era 2 is where Blackwater Park sits which is more progressive but still heavy (Damnation may be your thing, heavy but all clean vocals), Era 3 gets more acoustic and folk oriented and Era 4 moves more towards traditional prog rock, the last studio album Last Will and Testament has a bit of everything. I would suggest Damnation, Ghost Reveries and Sorceress and then Still Life which is a concept album. Enjoy the ride.
