BEEF UP any PASSIVE BASS!!! With the Legendary SADOWSKY PREAMP Pedal SBP-1!
The Sadowsky SBP-1 Bass Preamp offers bassists the same electronics that has been built into every Sadowsky bass for over 30 years. With the flexible combination of preamp and DI box, the pedal can be used in the effects setup in front of the amplifier or to connect your bass directly to a mixer or the PA. The control options are kept simple with Volume, Treble and Bass, Treble and Bass only work as a boost. When you use a compressor. Do you put it before or after the Sadowsky pre-amp in the chain?
Have one & used on almost every gig for the past 10+years.
Recommendations I saw for this pedal, and how I use it:
Volume 10/10
Bass 2/10
Treble 2/10
Less is more with this pedal. Mids remain strong as long as you keep bass and treble less than 1/4.
How come there’s a version that written on the preamp: “Sadowsky Guitar”, “Sadowsky Guitar nyc”, and “Sadowsky pedal” like the one in this video? Which one is newer?
Can anyone tell me if you can use the XLR and 1/4 outputs at the same time? The manual doesn't say and mine won't. Just checking to make sure there is no problem with it.
Does this work on Active Basses too, or just Passive Basses? ????
I just aquired one along with Greg Lakes mesa boogie bass rig.I look forward to trying in out! Thanks for vid.
If your preamp sucks like a lot of “hum” would this outboard preamp remedy this.?.
Excellent pedal ????????????
Neat…nice & simple with a quality pre-amp & DI box in one….great for getting lower impedence with passive bass's,straight into a desk, amp etc before a bunch of foot pedals, & a great sounding variable live/recording tone….does a lot well for one box…..
I just got one of these a few months ago and I absolutely love it. I wish more preamp pedals would take on the idea of just having 2-3 knobs and being dead simple to dial in a nice tone instead of constantly incorporating every knob and slider that will make your sound guy want to strangle you for even considering making use of them. The longer I play, the more I desire simple well made tools like this. Props to Sadowsky

Good thinking here in regards of using this preamp instead of mucking with a passive bass’s electronics. And Lars, this is a real hot set up too — bass / amp/ preamp combination!
