Are Guns N’ Roses Just a CASH GRAB Now?

Are Guns N’ Roses Touring for LOVE or just the CASH? After decades of iconic shows, legendary fights, and massive comebacks… are Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan still in it for the music, or just the millions? CAN AXL STILL SING? – https://youtu.be/m-42WcqzXhs

I’ve seen Guns N’ Roses six times since their reunion, and while some nights Axl Rose sounds like it’s 1987 again, other nights… well, not so much. After one great live concert in 2025 and one that left me questioning everything, I had to ask: Is this still about the music, or just the money?

Are you all the way down here? What is the capital of Thailand?

  • Considering all this band does is tour whilst playing 99% the same setlist with virtually no "new" music, then yes they are most definitely a cash grab and not real artists in Guns N Roses

  • I did not start the clip because the answer is simple. Alx is a idiot and can not sing anymore, that people even pay for this. Back in the day the reason Slash and Duff when away was because axl wanted them under a contrect of him. Now years later they are on the payroll of axl. Izzy did not want that. And without Izzy no GNR

  • Ever tried singing Guns n Roses songs? Axl is a powerhouse of a vocalist, don’t care what anyone says. His songs are not easy to sing at all.

  • No they’re not a cash grab now but guys like you use they’re success for your own personal click bait

  • I call them guns and strangers now. They use to make a stage look so small . Now the stage looks to big for them

  • I say it was a cash n Duff & Slash have been doing there own thing 4 years while Rose spent years making a terrible album & when touring stuck to the stuff from the first alum & tossed some Democracy stuff in for good measure. He didn't take care of himself let his voice go he sounded like what many said sounded like Mickey Mouse out of shape no hair. I still think it was a way 4 the record company 2 get there $$ back from the Democracy failure over 15 million neither Duff or Slash looked happy on stage . Should not be up there when his voice is gone what's the point?

  • I was there for all this back in the day but now it’s just cringe to hear axel’s old ass singing about night train

  • Guns has surely grown up and are realizing their value in the touring scene. As long as people will buy tickets it seems they’ll be willing to play.
I’m sure the continuity in their set lists has something to do with Axl’s voice??

  • Was too young to see prime GNR. I saw slash and conspirators in March for £120, 2000 seater club stood at the front in front of him. And briefly met him and most of the band at the back stage door. I was shocked to see the list of dates across the UK in club size venues.

He played don’t damn me, bad apples covered rocket man by Elton John with the dobro. I’m a guitarist. His playing was jaw dropping.

As long you’ve got artists like him openly saying he’s got to do those intimate gigs as he still needs that connection with the crowd I’d never pay to see any of the bands reaching old age and doing super stadiums. Metallica comes to mind first. Been touring for years with the stage in the round, ‘special’ passses to areas that turn out to be empty bars and seating, line arrays unable to deliver sound to the high seats in some venues.

I would never pay to see the bands doing the mega stadiums, paying hundreds if not thousands.

However, perspective is different for us all.

Im lucky I just managed to see a good number of bands squeezed at the front, face melting volumes, when they were still younger with swagger.

  • If it was only about money, they'd play for an hour or an hour and a half. But they play for well over 2 hours, they don't need to do that and they do it anyway

And I wish Axl would drop the falsetto down to his more natural voice, it wouldn't be the same – but it would be the same guys.

  • If they'd money grab; they'll do a World Tour; same songs every night; 1.5hrs and go to the next city..
No.. GnR is playing their ass off for 3+hrs.. Is it as good as it ever was? Absolutely not. Is it still worth it?!
    HELL YEAH

  • Its always been about the money, it's called the rock n roll swindle, beats working eh?….good on them i would if i could

    Reply
  • If we are strict about playing new material, they play Absurd, Hard Skool, Perhaps, The General… Those are new songs.

  • No they are not. I've never even dared to think I'll listen to them live, in the place that I am, and last month I heard that unbelievable riff, from that one song I've been singing in mi head for 20 years, coming out of that Les Paul straight at me. I have never felt like this before, and this moment will warm my heart until I die.

  • There are two or three new songs, and the Democracy songs. They even started doing Sabbath songs now too. So the setlist is different every time. But a new album is needed at this stage. They are incredible live and always deliver. It is worth every penny

  • I have seen Slash with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators twice. It's my favorite thing Slash has done post-GNR and they are great together. I am more interested in that than seeing the current iteration of the Guns .

  • It’s not a cash grab if people are paying to see them. I saw them in London in June, 4th time since 2016 and I’m grateful they’re performing. Even with horrible sound at wembley, my only real complaint was the show was too long! So that’s not a bad thing

  • Duff was playing in an actually a great band before the reunion. The Walking Papers. Best music he did in a long time. Shame he left it to pursue whatever this is. The Walking Papers still make great music but without the star power attached they cant seem to break through. ????

  • I have seeing them few times and one of those times i saw them in Iceland and we don't get many bands to Iceland

  • I don't think they mind the money – but I think it's about the fans and the nostalgia, pleasing those millions of people who made them popular. I think they learned this from their elders, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith. You don't walk away from your fans. – I don't think either Slash, Duff OR Axl would do it if they didn't feel it was a project of integrity, they would walk away.
