  • I could hear the brightness between A and B. I guessed B probably because of bias and some experience listening to these comparisons. The captures usually have a bit more air or top end. Did I know B was what it was? Nope lol

  • I couldn't tell which was which , at first , but immediately I knew that I liked the sound of A better. To me it was clearer, and brighter , with more definition and separation in the higher frequencies. With only a slight overall darkening , and a coalescing of some of the highs into a little muddier a compression , sample B sounded less commited in the high end. Of course if you're recording you can use the amp , but if you're tic toc'ing , or YouTubing , recording for commercials , or music for video or film , it's easier to travel, pack and carry a small item , that gets instantly so close to the real sound that a good engineer could EQ to compensate for the shortcomings and it would be hard to tell the difference , or maybe it's a mental technique that allows you to suspend disbelief long enough ( because you know what you're using), to forget the sound and become abdorbed in the moment's actual music. Or is that just more cork sniffing? And which is "cheaper"?

  • I love my Nano Cortex exactly for this. I have an idea of sound, I make it with my amp/pedals and I can capture it in 5 minutes to use it live pr when I record. I hope they can polish out the bugs and especially give us a way to backup the captures (I had the Nano reset itself hours before a live wiping all the presets)

  • Incredibly tasteful sound. Not sure are you more expressive, aware or careful on Nacho but you do play differently on it, like range from soft to hard tone is bigger, wider

  • Hey John, where can I purchase the QC presets? There doesn't seem to be any on your website

  • I couldn’t tell the difference by TONE but guessed correctly because I heard more dynamic nuance with choice A.

  • I’ve come to find that EVERYTHING sounds better with some sort of pre amp or boost pedal. Even the drive pedals after it sound better.

  • LISTENING TO JOHN CORDY IMPROVES YOUR LIFE!

It’s said that somewhere in the digital ether, hidden between the waveforms of John Nathan Cordy’s videos, lives an ancient frequency—one that subtly rewires your soul. Those who listen closely begin to notice strange changes: patience deepens, coffee tastes better, and old wounds start to hum in harmony. Some say it’s the phrasing, others whisper of a sacred chord progression only the truly open-hearted can hear. But all agree—watch enough Cordy, and you don’t just play better… you become better.

    Cheers, mate! ????????

  • Kinda like the Nano better than the actual amp. LOL. Natcho and the Nano does it equal Dumble??? Pro REverb with EV speakers.

  • I thought that B sounded like it had a bit more gain baked in, a bit more poke/bite/upper mid saturation. So I reckoned that was the capture. Because the real amp would have to sound more clean than the capture. But they both had basically the same character and the capture did sound like a real amp. Two different Pro reverb amps could sound more different. Great sounding amp. The Harlot sounds nice too, would be a great frontend to a nice solidstate amp and a good choice in front of a modeller.

  • Nice. I was confused by your cq cloud picture. There is a black dude with a yellow jacket????

  • They’re getting better. I liked A best (kind of sad that it was the more expensive one). For me this stuff falls down on mechanical reverbs (springs for example). A mechanical reverb changes response with your playing and drives the unit more when you play harder. This never seems to happen with any captures I do, (just sounds static). Maybe I’m doing it wrong ????

  • I only play clean tones and use a Roland JC22… I never use distortion, fuzz, or overdrive…just a bit of reverb and delay..and occasionally a bit of chorus since I have the one of the best built in chorus's in the jazz chorus by Roland.. I like as natural a tone as possible. Love the Nacho and the clean tone… In general do you like the NanoCortex as much or almost as much as your beloved HX Stomp John ?

  • The thing I love about the QC and Nano is how good the capturing is, I’m lucky enough to have a few nice amps but play professionally so when its practical to play direct I only use my own captures so I don’t sound like everyone else.
