The m7b5 or half-diminished chord is often difficult to solo over, but these arpeggios are a great sound to add to your vocabulary and jazz solos!

My name is Jens Larsen, Danish Jazz Guitarist, and Educator. The videos on this channel will help you explore and enjoy Jazz. Some of it is how to play jazz guitar, but other videos are more on Music Theory like Jazz Chords or advice on how to practice and learn Jazz, on guitar or any other instrument.
The videos are mostly jazz guitar lessons, but also music theory, analysis of songs and videos on jazz guitars.

Smooth Jazz❤
so cool. I love these!
Thanks…Jens……!!!
The Maj7 arpeggio is beautiful. That's going into my vocabulary. Thank you.
The DmMaj7 arpeggio is a “great melodic minor sound” over the Bm7b5. The favorite device I like to proselytize about on my channel is the Bm7b5 Modal Pentatonic. The notes [A B D E F] lay conveniently on the guitar fingerboard in “string pairs” starting from the 5th fret of the low E string as shown below:
⑥ A B ⑤ D E F ④ A B ③ D E F ② A B ① D E F
Perhaps guitar players who have been playing for awhile will recognize this as the basic B Blues Scale [closely related to B minor pentatonic] without the 5th[F#]. This is also a Great Sound over a G9 Chord! Rock On! Jazz On!
They most certainly are difficult ????
Nice choices, all! I love how you can choose different colors to work with on each one. Thanks, Jens
I love being able to 'spell out' a chord into an arpeggio and turning it into a lick or line. It's like having a super power !
