Actually I think the Les Paul sounded the best here. But the tele sounded better than the strat! Which is surprising
Distortion on a Fender guitar sounds like crunch. It's true that distortion is better suited to Gibson guitars, perhaps because they use humbuckers.

Why not throw an HSS strat in there so you at least compare Gibson humbuckers to fender humbuckers? The single coils definitely sound thinner and less punchy for this sort of music. (I’m not a strat guy – I own both of these Gibsons – just seems weird to compare single coils to humbuckers for rock tones)
