Join me for a Florida nature trail walk-and-talk as I share the creative process of being on fire! I take you behind the scenes of how a simple KISS-style rock riff on my Ibanez PS60 Iceman turned into a full-blown song called “Working Nights.” You’ll hear how I wrote the riff, built the arrangement, recorded scorching guitar and vocals, and then shot the performance footage. I break down my video editing process, the tools I used, and a few secrets to pulling it all together. This episode blends rock ’n’ roll inspiration with creative workflow tips—perfect for musicians, songwriters, and content creators who want to turn sparks of inspiration into finished work.

  • You're doing great Brad! All you do is appreciated by me. Actually, I really don't know how you juggle it all. Also, I really like the subject matter of your new song. I can really relate. I believe, rock has become too boring and safe . The true essence of rock n roll is naughty and fun, yet smart. ????????????

  • I've had that song in my head for 2 weeks now in the form of ear worms so with that said , it must be a great tune ! I like the guitars at the end with the solo . You put in that James Hetfield vibe in there also with that "yah " going on.

  • Your new song was cool.

I think most musicians actually quit making videos on YouTube because it can take 10-30 hours just to make a decent music video or tutorial

  • Yeah, making Demos by yourself take 10 times longer, and forget multi-version's as well, that takes 100 times more time etc.. A simple Guitar drum Machine vocals is the only productive way. Its all used as a sketch for real studio action anyway. Song creation has always been a team action. Most songs don't come together till almost the final take etc. too many variations for one person to do. I know, I been in a Creative Whirlwind for 40 years

  • The reality is this, Man… You could've just got AI to write and record your Kiss style song in 30 seconds with an AI model of your vocals singing it.

  • Doing all that and still getting the time in to get exercise in – health is wealth! Looking forward to hearing the track. Thanks Brad for explaining the process of your recording.

  • Brad … I highly recommend using the calendar in your phone, whatever brand you use. I hesitated using Google Calendar for years. I was forgetting things. Then about 5 years ago, I decided to use Google Calendar. Now just about everything goes into it. When to pay bills and amounts as Tasks, entered when I get the bill, usually by email. No more cheque writing, just E-banking. When I pay them, I mark each one as Completed. Tasks for pay day, when Auto withdrawals come out. Events for all my appointments, band rehearsals, gigs, what Thursday night is Garbage or Recycling. Any gear or guitar stuff and reminders, which could be weeks away. My oldest son is in Special Olympics, and I keep track of the games he needs a drive to, usually out of town. Otherwise he takes the bus.

  • Thanks BadBrad for the behind the scenes story of the track. I was pleasantly surprised when the song dropped out of nowhere! I know that feeling of suddenly being in the zone….Glad to see you on fire!

  • As far as I'm concerned that tune should be flying around the air waives all through out the country ????????????

  • It's cool that you have the tools to get so much done in the songs. I'm starting to think about all this migration to Florida, musicians, finance from Wall Street, so many different types, it's starting to feel like California in the early 60s. Reagan California. I grew up in that and saw all the new music, film, products, tech etc. California is on life support, Florida is just booming. I think you are in the right place to create music and do what you are doing. It sounds weird but think of all the communities that started in California in San Francisco, Los Angeles etc.

  • Why is it that when you have your part down. You mess up when the red light goes on? And it’s always toward the end. Stay busy bro it’s good for ya!

  • You did a great job eliminating the back ground noise on this video. IMO, You have a (Dio) flavor to your singing, compliment….

  • Wow, Dad Brad! That's a lot of work, putting together that great song! Thank you. You did a great job. You are most certainly multi-talented. Thanks for the mod shout-out!

  • We forgot about the electric bill for the condo once, luckily the power company is only a few miles away and they came out as soon as we made the payment
