Very good love his bass tone
Les claypool tone
Please ????????
nice one! i got a g&l for almost 20 years now. do DD Verni next! 🙂
what does one actually achieve by using so many different EQs. on the bass, pedal and amp? it just feels so complicated
Great! Can you talk about copying synth bass sounds? Like moog and novation presets.
Copy Fieldy from korn bass tone
You should try Les Claypool bass tone from the sailing the seas of cheese
The song crimson path by Dvne has a really good bass tone.
Dead on accuracy… Im amazed, now i fan go buy a G&l instead of a Wal ????
wow, for being only a 2 minute video this is amazing, not a second was wasted IMO, we even got great details of all the EQ settings in that short bit of time (better than most longer videos). only thing I wish is that the video had a section after this that went in to a deep dive on it, as knowledgeable as Nate is I'm sure he'd have tons of additional good insight to provide us with.
L2000. DONE.
You definitely needed a sansamp, that’s exactly what he uses
I know it's super basic, but I would like you to do the tone in The Package, by A Perfect Circle ❤
FIELDY next!
Please try Peter Steele!
Hi, please the tone of jhon myung of @dreamtheater
Please do Geddy Lee's tone on Moving Pictures – that would be amazing!
Ha, I also use the L2000 to get the "Wal" tone, guess I'm in good company
I have to say, I hope you try Sean Malone's bass tone (Gordian Knot and Cynic)! Such iconic fretless tone.
Can you do David John levy from processed?
What about Les Claypool's tone?
Without a Wal, G&L is the best bass to go, also Music Man HH (he use it live on Descending). But Wal tone….is a Wal tone.
I always thought the l2000 was the closest you could get to wal out the box.
If you don't have a fancy eq, one thing you can do is turn on the preamp with treble boost but roll back the passive highs and maybe a bit of bass.
Awesome job as always, man, how about Paul McCartney, Cliff Burton/Jason Newsted or Peter Steele from Type O Negative?
My friend knew tools road manager on a tour about seven or eight years ago? We got pulled out of the after party and brought to a back room where the guitar player and bass player we’re hanging out. After a couple minutes, the bass player‘s wife walked in, smashed, throwing beer bottles, just doing that whole drunken chick thing, I was dying, laughing inside, doesn’t matter how big a rockstar you are. You still can have one of those spinal tap whack a doodle wives.
That was really close.. sounds great! Mine as well do Paul D'Amour's tone from Undertow now lol
Chris Wolstenholme PLS
In future tonequest videos, could you please add a replay of the original tone right before or after yours, so it's easier compare?
Id like to see one about Thundercat!
Please How To Get John Myung (Dream Theater) Bass Tone
Mark Adams of Slave. Super growly jbass tone with a 3 pickup J bass
Greg Lake
Its hard to match the brightness of the Wal bass, you can only match it with one Wal if you have the money, yet G&L is pretty close.
Christina Aguilera Lady Marmalade
Britney Spears Toxic
Holy shit man, I did NOT expect it to sound that good, even without a Wal. Great job!
Outstanding. If you're going for metal, definitely do Slipknot. Great bass tone on their track, The Nameless. From the Subliminal verses.
Step 1: Acquire a $10K+ Wal bass lol.
Gotta do Les Claypool
Jon Stockman of Karnivool. Unmatched!
Nick Schendzielos. That's killer tone
Thanks Nate
Bernard Edwards from Chic
