  • Side note: is anyone else grateful that we can still work on our own guitars and swap out broken parts ourselves instead of having to contact Gibson or Fender and go through customer support like every other hobby now a days?

  • How can I fix the issue where my high E string on my electric guitar sounds weaker or quieter than the low E string?

  • Does not hurt to grab some Isopropyl Alcohol and clean the inside of the jack at the same time. Should assist with a good earth.

  • It's a great fix in a pinch, but it's a sign that you need a new input jack. If you can't get a new jack, you can try adding solder to the base of the contact "leaf" to make it more rigid and thus less likely to bend outta shape. As jacks go, there's a great one by Pure Tone with two "leaves" for contact, which both ensure good contact but also delay fatigue by spreading the load of the mechanical force on the contact.

  • Forgot which platform I
    was on,
I have pics of the input jack I use on my Facebook page, if
    anyone is interested. Not
    very
expensive and they are available on Amazon.

  • У моего товарища похожая проблема была, там этому входу было лет 15-20. Я в итоге просто его заменил на новый. Цена вопроса 50 рублей (пол доллара) + 15 минут времени. Но зато он теперь еще столько же проработает.
