You just got to step out of the box. Once you learn that concept and land your root notes or minor thirds if the key is minor or 5ths as long as you land on one of those in your solo and I typically end with the root note being bent up from a whole step down with a shitload of vibrato. My whole point, is just don't be afraid to get out of the box. You will become a better player and speed will definitely develop on your left hand.
