Still has that cruddy digital sound. I’m sure it tracks better on guitar though. Make a bass centered version so it can track better!

I use one and I never go more than half step. Sounds muddy after that. I mainly use it for the octave effect most of the time
Dude you didn't do Oct + Dry, that's the whole sauce of this pedal. Play up an octave.

Is there an equivalent for guitar?
I've had 2 of these over the years. They're "ok" down to 3 or 4 in a pinch, but never sound as crisp and natural as just a proper tuning. They just fall apart at 5 and below IMO.
Great pedal, I have 3 of them, even got my mate one, absolutely perfect on guitar regardless of how far you drop the tuning, bass not so much, It works ok if you go from D to C but not so much from D to B or D to A. Particularly the open notes seem to lose clarity. Plenty of videos demonstrate this. Please DigiTech make a dedicated drop pedal for the bass that fixes this issue and then bassists, like guitarists will be free from needing more than one instrument to play in every tuning! ❤
I over-use it for guitar and it is damn good. But for bass it's just bad, really bad.

So I can toss my 5 string and just use a 4? Good, cause the five's neck was hard to get my little fingers around.
great on the high note, but the low strings always gonna feel flubby thru a pitch shifter – especially when playing fast
