Great video. Once you understand and and apply the CAGED system, this all makes perfect sense.
Great lesson. Ty.
I am always appreciate of those who share their time and talents, but this video has way too much theory type info for beginners.
This is a very good video but it is definitely mis-named. This is for intermediate players with a prior knowledge of the pentatonic scale in more than one position, chord tones and a knowledge of the Nashville numbering system for chords.
Very useful video tho'.
Very complicated
You did a great job explaining the solo on the one chord, but you really glazed over the 4 and the 5.
Great Vid…..
Having that backing track would really be helpful to me.
Great lesson – instant sub! Came here having learned a lot from Ricky Comiskey’s channel & you bring a different angle & approach to those same subjects. With help from two complementary channels things are beginning to make some sense for me (after a long long time!) – it’s why Youtube is such a fantastic learning resource. Thank you!
Excellent lesson. Thank you!
You talk so fast you should be an auctioneer.
The part of witch shape is that box? , if I lock bether is the part of C shape in A major pentatonic mixing with E shape A minor pentatonic?!
Jesus no….please. For those wanting to emulate – go ahead, it's a free World. For me, it would be a real pleasure never to hear BB king playing ever again. I hated the thin, boring, predictable runs when I first studied music .. cello, then piano and guitar at 11 years old… decades later it was still a natural action – turn BB off, if he appeared on TV or radio. Like garlic, some love it, some hate it.
So its A Major???
We cannot use the box in munor blues?
I know how, just not when.
Gotta disagree with the posters here. It's a slow blues. The emphasis in on ear training and soulful playing. Fiddle around till you get it right.
Those p90 pickups sound great
What is the guitar you’re using?
????
Iti is impossible to see sometimes whether you are bending10 11 or 12.due to the covering fingers… and also whether it is E, B or G sometimes. Also, when you describe the notes played, sometimes you only describe 2, rather than 3,,,, otherwise terrific.
Love it ❤. Tell it
Regardless, good job, many thanks!
That D note is the 7th of the 5 chord isn't it? The flat 7th would be a Db, right? In other words in the key of A, the 5 chord is an E, and the 7th is a D note. Am I thinking of this wrong? (Or is this too insignificant to bother???)
????????????thanks
Great lesson and an excellent explanation of how to link those boxes! Many thanks.
Why are you doing it in A????
Ah ha. This has made everything I’ve learnt about BB make much more sense. Thanks for breaking this down and also offering some insight on where to go next ????
Dude. Seriously? Don’t say “this note” without saying exactly what note it is and at which fret it’s located. You know how much extra work we gotta do to learn your “beginners” video????
thanks bro
Learn how to play before u go on YouTube
Outstanding.
Hold on. After all the technical stuff and theory you said.. Don't worry if it doesn't make much sense.. Then continued with the technical and theory stuff lol.. ????
shouldn’t all the 3rds in the fingerboard notation be flat?
Yes! You are the right teacher for everyone. All others just talking too much
Excellent lesson!
Box, notes, patterns. If I dont get that BB vibrato. It's just the first note in the major scale. Thanks for sharing
Had the potential to be a useful lesson but "C" in the key of A is the minor third, not major 3rd as written (Box1) Just ended up confused.
A useful explanation, which is helping me… but I haven’t a clue what your’re playing at times; the camera angles aren’t as good as you think they are!
Great love BB
BB king did alot more then the BB box.
I can usually follow along with most instructional videos, but this one goes too fast for me at several points.
Gets some feel for Christ sake
As a metal player who just got hired by a blues band, this helped me a lot to solo with chord changes in a single box. Beautiful
This was super helpful! Thank you! ????
The BB Box is truly just the mixolydian scale minus one note
Really great lesson. Thank you!
