Can you HEAR the DIFFERENCE? Celestion V30 vs GT12-75 #diyrecordingstudio #guitar #guitaramp
Hard rock and metal sounds are chased by artists the world over. What ou might not know is most of the speaker cabinets we buy and use have old, outdated speakers in them, or speakers that are cheap knock-off of what we are chasing. The Celestion Vintage 30 is THE Sound most people are looking for in heavy rock, metal and other genres.

Interesting Video, but I can't understand how the G12-T75's sound that harsh in your recording. I'm using G12-T75's as my main Speakers…on Stage (1960 a Lead from 1994) and in the Studio (1936 Lead from 2017)…I always prefer them against my two Vintage 30 Cabs and never head any issues with Harshness.
Did you used the Real Cabs with Mics or did you used IR's for that?
The T-75 requires a 2nd mic when recording. Glen fricker has some videos on this.
How broken in was that Vintage 30?
I think marshall mostly uses 16ohm speakers in a 4×12 and 16ohm speakers are generally a bit harsher than 8ohm in my experience.
In future, when you are comparing two speakers, make sure that after the first sound sample you keep on yakking yakking yakking so that by the time we hear the second sound sample we have forgotten what the first one sounded like.
G12 to harsh.
100 percent agree
No substantive difference.
Where's the greenback
If I put 2 vintage 30 and 2 g12t75 in a 4×12 cab what ohms settings would i use
Those 90s, 75s suck. Try ones from 1984. Those 75s are great.
Only shitty part is live you're gonna basically have to choose which one you want micd
Faaark. That's so compelling. I just went through a similar process and replaced half my cabinet speakers = 5 out of 8!
What song is that?
