Ampeg B15N Repair Rundown #ampeg #vintageamp #bass #bassamp #tubeamp #fazioelectric
This is a later version of the B15 (Early 70’s), after Ampeg switched to black tolex & mounting the standby switch on the rear panel. These amps are stellar for recording bass!

Groovy
Cool if you need a helper I can, also I'm looking to play some music I'm in Reno area
Aunt Peg!
Show me you replacing these things without a cut video. More importantly, love to see how you diagnose the issues. It’s something I struggle with.
Nice job ! Where did you learn to work on those ?
Sssswwweeetttt…..
Yeah old vintage ampegs are great Amps ????????
Id love to have that maybe one day
Had an ampeg Gemini 6 with a 15…. shoulda treasured it. I did not.
at first I thought it was SHOCKING people cuz it was SO GOOD!
You are the coolest person on the planet omg….a telebass (I've got a blonde one that's with me for life), an og flip top b15 just like jamerson used to monitor himself in the studio, that ink, and above all handy with tools and circuitry! I've always heard that studio cats used to like the single coil p bass through amps like the b15 cause in the mix it sounded a lot like playing with a pick even with fingers. But this is the first genuine example I've heard where it sounds like it could be a pick!! Wilton Felder used to play one of those for that very reason, and I can hear why
That service manual is seksy.
Getting shocked is pretty rock 'n' roll, but not if you die at home instead of on stage.
Awesome amp
WHAT. You're a bass player? Awesome!
???? ❤❤❤❤ Fingernail Polish tells me that you need a day off…work????????
Well today I stopped wondering why they called these Flip Tops
Use me… until you use me up!
Way cool ????! ????
Uncle Doug approves this message!
Tell us more about the death cap, is this in all ampeg bass units?
We all love your vids & voice!!! Nails???
Porta Flex, James Jamerson, output transformer prone to short out, those bypass caps always go bad. That's not the death cap. A lot if people call it that. But the original death cap was the one in the cheap amps with series string heaters and no power transformer.
Wow that is a neat amp, l would play guitar through it!
Nice one
whats the death cap
I have a b25re and need to figure out why its not working but still turns on…
You do Awesome ???? work, just Amazing
Where are you located in Chicago?
BTW great videos and good bass work. I enjoy your videos, you are very talented at amp restoration.
Remove your nail polish totally, or get your nails did, that’s not a good look for anyone. ????
The added safety is awesome ???? Also you saved techs like me from having to troubleshoot crazy buzzes that an amp like that can make when those 2 prong cables get flipped around. It's nice to not have all of the metal in you bass be live waiting for you to walk up to a mic and get a shock through your lips and potentially die ???? Great job! ????????????????
There's no such thing as a death cap.
Shocking
My first band I played a Telecaster into a 112 Ampeg fliptop sounded exactly like Neil Young
