  • I forgot that my Youtube was set to 0.75 speed because I was practicing some songs.

Definitely went like 3 minutes thinking you were drunk hahahha

  • I remember, in the 1990s, when i was first learning to play guitar, having to buy an expensive pedal for EACH special effects/sound you wanted to produce on your guitar. I remember buying a Distortion Pedal for $85, and a Digital Delay Pedal for $120. Remember, this was back in the 90s. That was a ton of money, to me, back then. Now, you can buy an amp with many effects already built in. Its amazing! I hate to sound like an old man, but the youngsters these days don't know how easy they have it, in trying to learn the guitar, these days! All the built in effects in Amps, YouTube to help learn, free guitar Tabs, etc.

  • Glenn Fricker was right about the Mark I … and I'll add that the Mark II isn't much better anyway.
Imagine, YOU CAN'T TAP TEMPO A DELAY/ECHO USING THE FULL TIME RANGE OF WHAT THE AMP IS DESIGNED FOR (20ms to 2s)!!!! (Well, you may never be able to TAP faster that around 90ms anyway … BUT WHY LIMITING? …).
They're so clever at Line 6 that they affected a "NOTE SYSTEM" to the TIME of the delay/echo when you decide to TAP TEMPO your effect … the result being that if you want to TAP TEMPO and get the "WHAT YOU TAP IS WHAT YOU GET" delay/echo that you need, well, you're limited to the quarter note choice (♩) which limits the TIME from 250ms to 2s … in short YOU CAN'T PROGRAM A SLAP-BACK (90ms Rockabilly type, or even 30ms Beatles type) as a default value and TAP a long TIME TEMPO with the preset you've programmed … and then maybe going back to the SLAP-BACK if you call the same preset again (like with a "FBV 3" or a "FBV Shortboard MkII" control board for instance).

Guess what! You could TAP whatever you wanted with the Spider IV.

They also removed the Pre & Post BOOST feature in the Spider V, which is an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE when you play live with a "FBV 3" or a "FBV Shortboard MkII" with the Spider IV. And this Pre & Post BOOST feature is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO ADD: just changing the INPUT and OUTPUT VOLUME VALUES. That's all!

It seems they hired a truckload of "Einsteins" between the Spider IV and the Spider V were developed.

  • I LOVE that you can record videos easy and edit the sounds. It just sucks I don’t have the switch board for this. If it even has one. I wish though. Does this have a switchboard you can use? Anyone know?

  • I bought this not to long ago. I have zero experience at playing or using an amp. I started getting a continuous buzzing effect whenever I hook my guitar. Is there anyway I can stop this? I tried turning it down but then I just lose any sound effects.

  • so i got a spider v 20 mkii for christmas, and i want to know, since the usb port is a micro-usb, could i hook up my amp to my iphone with the spider controller amp and use that to customize a tone/use tones that others have made?

  • "And how that sounds, is how it sounds" and "let the speaker be what it's gonna be"??? I see…….. ????

  • In my opinion, the Line 6 AX2 was the best amp they ever built. This amp might be a modern version…we'll see.

  • Has anyone done the "Rate my tone" to Ola to see if he recognizes his own tones??? LOL!!!

  • I bought this hoping quality to be great and it was for a short time. Till it started turning off and on. The power wires inside are so loose and will get looser using the comp setting. I play at 50%. A bit depressing when ya got lyrics flowing smoothly

  • And here I was thinking about getting a Spider IV…thanks for complicating it for me lol

  • The 12inch speaker on this sux. It needs a v30 or T 75. But yeah I played on it at guitar center for atleast 30 minutes and I could not get it to sound usable in classic mode or full range.

  • Fun fact: I picked up a used v30 first gen and you can update it to have pretty much everything the mkii has, and yes the fluff and ola presets are pretty damn good, only had to add and tweak in a noise gate.
