If it's listed as 30 watts it's probably more like 8
I haven't heard anything bad about those baby bombs.
I had a thought to get one of those mk3 mess pedals too.
I got one of those blackstar fly3 and ut sounds pretty good, nice and portable.
But i recently built basically the preamp of the block letter 212 5150 green channel.
I was pumping it through the Fly.
I was looking around for the highest powered, smallest amp, and i am seriously thinking about getting one of those baby bombs
Thanks for the video ????
I put an eq pedal in between the 2 just like its in the amp fx loop
Ha, that Behemoth riff…..
how to connect that small pedal to cab?
I just ordered my third one.
Baby bomb is amazing as long as you keep its power supply away from the rest of your pedals. Some kid plugged it into my 005 and the 005 fried instantly
So can I use this to power a 2×12 cab?
I wonder if you could run the Line Out from a Marshall Lead 12 head, or maybe a Lead 15 head, to this Baby Bomb to stack an added 30 watts on top of the 12w/15w rating?.. Those two heads can already push 2×12 and 4×12 cabs nicely with just their stock wattage, I'd imagine this Baby Bomb would give an extra 30w boost to make these amazing little amps sound even better through the x12 cab's.. ????
Right now i have :
Guitar into tuner pedal into gas station into a noise gate pedal into baby bomb into 2X12. Sounds pretty good but is it better to pin the baby bomb output and use less volume on gas station or visa versa?
What are the other pedals you have in the chain besides the Baby Bomb and Gas Station
5:21 its important to understand that power (wattage) and loudness do not scale linearly. Double the power does not mean double the loudness. That said, for most practice situations and most gigging situations with a PA, 15 watts is more than enough. that said, 30 watts in a compact pedal is pretty amazing. I will get one of these in a few months
I got one finally, and it sounds great with 1×12 or 2×12 cabs. 4×12 cabs, not so much. You can't get the volume, and the overall sound changes. I run the Mooer 002 with it, and it does not sound good in a 4×12. Not sure if it's the lack of Ohm settings, or what, BUT, I've been using the setup with a 1×12 Mesa cab at band practice, and it totally keeps up with the band!
What was your signal chain in this video? Was that a Wylde OD in front of your preamp? And then what was the green pedal after your preamp and before the baby bomb? Also I just got the baby bomb and used it powering a 2×12 cab but I drove it with a Plumes OD pedal and after a certain volume or when I used any volume around 1/2 way on the plumes it could my baby bomb out.. I found that weird.. if your turn up the baby bomb past 1/2 way it has a breakup and I thought I could hit that with the plumes and hit it harder but that’s not the case.
Nice HOF riff! ,,/
If I'm planning on buying a micro preamp and a Radar (which has a power amp simulation) and going DI for recording, is there much point getting this?
Looking at getting this and a Harley Benton G212 V30 cab to pair with my Line 6 PodGo. Is this setup gonna be too loud for a bedroom jammer? TIA.
Appreciate for the video. Can we use it at home 🙂
Hi great video really explained a lot. Could you do a tutorial how you connect that to cab or a combo?
The sound is way WAY better than I expected… There's a really nice grain to the tone when running the other pedals
Why am I listening to you…
with a real interest?????
i have 2 mooer preamps (engl and mesa) hooked on a Mimiq and driven by Precision Horizon…all straight to my sound card and i hear the sound from active monitors…
i would like to expand the pedal rig on a dual amp setup….i m thinking on Orange Micro Dark with 2 Halrly Benton cabs….is that a good option compared to baby bomb? i like the tube installed on Orange…any thoughts or recommendations?
Mooer is the best guitar pedal brand, they are so innovative
Great….an excuse to get more pedals, wonderful, thankx bro
Sorry— I realize this is 2.5 years ago, but does the Baby Bomb 'pop' when it's powered on? If so, is there a way to prevent that and how loud is it (does it depend on the volume on the dial)? Lastly, everyone says it's a loud pedal (30w), but if you need to use it in an apartment situation with tv volumes, is there enough room at the beginning of the volume curve, PLUS using your modeler/preamp's volume to control it? And if so, does that compromise the tone—not letting the thing roar?
You reckon this little guy could power a valve preamp?
Waiting for a tiny power amp with NU Tube technology in it.
Great, informative video. Quick question. So a regular guitar cable from the AX8 to the Baby Bomb "in", and a speaker cable "out" to the guitar cabinet, correct?. Also, from an AX8, you'd really just need the Baby Bomb prior to going into a passive cabinet, right? Thanks!
I find this sick amounts of gain out of control. No cleanse but cool taking
So with the Mooer Radar IR out now, you can pretty much make a great setup for recording and live applications with good house sound?
Mooer 002 UK Gold Preamp and the Baby Bomb=Awesomeness.
I also have a couple of Joyo preamp pedals (Tech 21 clones), so if I want Vox, Fender, or Mesa – it's there.
Running my board into the preamp, delays and reverbs after the 002 and before the Baby Bomb, into the Bassbreaker112 cab, really nice tone. The UK Gold is handy for running to an IR loader for straight-up DI to PA. But having a real cab running as well is sweet AF.
This is amazing to throw into the gig bag along with my ax8 … i set up my ax8 with 2 outputs – main goes to front of house , then the fx send goes into the return of the amp so that i have the "traditional" monitoring on stage with a guitar amp … the problem is if the venue supplies an amp with no fx loop … this solves the problem and takes virtually no space !!!
Would you still go with that baby bomb over a Orange micro dark?
I've just bought a BB. I'm wondering if I should set the Helix output level at unity (volume knob all the way up) or if it doesn't matter and I can have the Helix volume down and the BB higher. Unity has the best signal to noise ratio, but I'm a bit confused about this.
