  • Cheers for this mate literally only looking for reviews because I love their dark camo green Delta and most green short scales are that horrific neon candy apple green haha

  • Tempted to shift my Fender mustang for one of each of these. Love the style. Think with some EQ the satellite would be great. Love the look of these.

  • "so, what kind of inlays do we want?"
"make it look like the E string is microtonal"
    "done."

    (love it btw)

  • I really dig the look and sound of the Heartwood Satellite bass. Just entered the competition. Congrats on reaching 30k subs Johnny. Your videos keep getting better and better.

  • Definitely sounds better than the Gear4Music demos. I like the sound of a split-coil pickup near the neck. Sadly the popularity of slap has made them rare.
And they must be Chinese inches or sth. Cheers!

  • Nice but a bit confused, you told me you only buy mid priced bass's, £500 you said, i've watched you collect some very expensive bass's way over £1000-£2000+….on your wall & you gigging….why tell me , 'no i only like cheaper bass's', not correct bud, soon i will be back on YouTube & show how i buy MIM & old cheaper USA Fender bass's & do them up as i am not rich & cannot afford over £1000 bass's, nevermind £2000+, it's a pain but i wanted my dream Fender but the prices were to much so i bought a couple of American Special's, a MIM Anniversary Jazz & PJ Jaguar Player Series & hot rodded them, first with luthiers then myself as they kept messing up my bass's here in Edinburgh, Scotland, there moody & useless in Edinburgh, so kool they turn down £200+ refret jobs & any repair so i send them to someone in England if something i cannot do, a refret etc, nice good priced bass's Jonny but i've seen you play live & hang some expensive bass's bud, be honest at least, i'm 62 not 16 bud…..

  • What is the pick guard doing on the Delta, it seems to be a fashion choice rather than one of function especially for pick play!
The Satellite does sound a bit off with the pick-up that close to the neck, it also makes the body look very empty… Decent price though????

  • Thanks for the excellent video, thanks to you I just found out about these two super-cool basses, I'm ordering them today…

  • thank you, you reminded me that I need to call my mother. Nice looking basses

  • It looks like they were able to keep the price under £200 by hiring a three-year-old to design the body and headstock.

  • Im really digging the Satellite bass! 60s surf punk vibes! Too many companies out there imo go the safe route with putting the p pickup in the usual sweet spot and make just another budget p bass copy. Im glad to see somebody try something different with it! Its giving 70s Telecaster bass/Gibson EB vibes tone wise but with more clarity

If i ever got one to tinker with, Id try modding it with the emg geezer butler p pickup. I think it would rip!

  • Shortscale for 200 pounds, that's a steal. I'm very content with my Sandberg Lionel and Ibanez EHB shortscales, but it would be nice to have a cheaper bas on hands to not worry about dinging up ????

  • Gear4Music evidently heard that no one wanted to play their instruments with that garish logo on the headstock, the Hartwood looks much better. At least they're trying to be a bit different.

  • my Hartwood speedway guitar is perfect value for money! delta looks beautiful if it was 34scale.

  • Kinda hate the design of the Delta but the Satellite looks so weird that I sorta love it. lol
Was looking into their guitars earlier that year and was wondering when they'll put out similar stuff with basses. Really loved the retro vibe with the guitars but the basses look a bit wonky.
I'm thinking about getting the Satellite as I think it might be a cool little modding platform and the medium scale makes it pretty interesting as I love the scalelength on the Squier Jaguar basses that are also 32".

    Thanks for the great review!

  • Your brillant mum-jokes reminded me of a pick a friend of mine caught of Scott Ian at an Anthrax concert in the early 90s. "How's your mum? Is your dad working?"

  • What's the Satellite weigh? Looking for a lightweight bass, and that seems like just the ticket. I always liked the tone of a pickup right up against the neck, personally.

  • So with cheap price and 29 inch scale this is aimed at beginners. But the "side" fretmarkers are very hard to see, if it at all. Geez, I have seen Gibson basses with less dumb design choices…

  • Cool design, but I found the pickguard of the Satellite to be aesthetically unpleasing to my eyes, plus as you said the pick-up is way too near to the neck (same "flaw" I experienced with the "Jacksonbacker" basses' split-coil). The Delta is the best design for me. I like the "dots" on the fingerboard. The fact the body is made of basswood rather than the traditional poplar, typical of their price range, is a top feature.
