To record guitar in the studio we always use Ernie Ball cables, a Universal Audio Apollo X8P Interface, a Shure SM57 Dynamic Microphone and a Royer R-121 Ribbon Microphone.
Please note that Lee Anderton has a personal financial share holding in the following brands – Victory Amplification, Chapman Guitars and Burns Guitars. The EastCoast, Landlord & Ordo brand names are used for Andertons’ own brand products.

Two guys – extremely knowledgeable about sound and guitar tone, professionals – can't figure out to swap each send and return cable to have the left LED indicate the left pedalboard to be on and vice versa. Proceeding to twist their brains into a knot.
Best copy for Deco Modulation (Prince) is a Flanger with Manual set High…. Boss BF3 would have been a good choice.
We've all seen it; when singers hit loud notes, they move the mic away from their mouth & when they sing quiet passages they bring it closer. I always think of a compressor as the instrument version of that.
That cheap octave fuzz is surprisingly good
Re-sell value of both setups?
I had a teacher say “If you’re gonna do something, do it right”. I’ve got the Protein and the Dane, and both I use all the time. Definitely worth the investment
the real diff will be on a stage
do the Nu-x people get mad at you continuing to call them Nucks? ????
if you want an affordable version of the modulation sound of a deco, your better off getting a flanger and turning down the regen knob
The polytune supposedly has a great buffer. Does the tuner on the other side have one?
Yep, cheap circuits for drives were bound to be good, and the DSP of the expensive verbs etc are better
Jack White is probably building a million dollar song around the flurb on that cheap whah's low end. ????????????
I'm kind of over the fact that it is fashionable to crap on Tube Screamers. Even when people replace them with some contemporary version of the same circuit they find it necessary to make sure to tell people they don't like them. I have never found anything that stacks better than a Tube Screamer. I can admit that by itself it is mediocre but at the beginning or end of a drive chain it is simply amazing.
Pete could discard 4 strymon pedals for an eventide H9….
Pete really didn't want to admit that the sounds on most were identical. Especially the Protein, and the behringer octavia sounded way better than the mythos argo
I’ve built so many boards, pro fire breathers, and end up selling them priced. Joyo R series, Mosky M series, Many Caline, Movall, Azor and Dolamo are great.Demonfx are AMAZING especially the @plus and R3 but the R4 rules! Their screamers are great too. Buying a Valeton GP5 because My PM sounds too Good! More NAM yes Please
I personally mix and match – Cali 76 but a Behringer Fuzz Bender. Whatever works, works! Even without a budget (by saving up ????) some cheaper pedals have great tone and clarity.
wow that Deco makes the perfect Purple Rain sound. The cheap board still sounded really good at the end. i'd like to hear the cheap board with a noise gate.
That song was killer!
behringer fuzz totally ROCKS!
It is typical guitar world or the music industry I would say. It is quite an elite thinking when it comes to gear.
This was awesome…Pete is a wizard!!!
besides the noise, there's a certain grainy quality to the cheaper gain pedals that's quite noticeable to me. I've said this about expensive pedals before though too. some of these are great, really just comes down to preference
start with the cheaper stuff and upgrade overtime depending on your tastes
Better quality circuits and buffering…….
I sold my "The Dane" so I could pay rent and I miss it so much because at this point I think I should have sold a guitar instead of it. This video has reinforced that feeling.
So I can see I need a Dane and a cali 76 down the road. What is the make and model of the actual purple pedal board Pete is using?
