Whats the background music in your video?
Cheers for the review man
I’ve got this guitar ( I changed the bridge, pickups and tuners) but It is pretty great for the price. I am currently looking at getting a little better 7 string, and since you have played all 3 thought you might could help me out. I’m looking at the PRS SE Mark Holcomb and the Epiphone Matt Heafy. Compared to the Jackson which one has the best feeling neck to you? Mostly as far as comfort and playability? Thanks for your help
My 1st 7-string JACKSON guitar….I absolutely love it and haven't played any of my 6 strings since lol….very solid overall for an entry level….proof that expensive price DOESN'T make it a better guitar ????????
I bought 2 low priced 7 strings at one pop and the Jackson was the keeper. I don't recall the brand of the other one It was a real fail. What ever the brand was, it was in the same price range. It arrived in a sealed OEM box. Never opened. When I checked it out the frets had been sanded FLAT and never rolled or polished. WTH? Instead of returning it by shipper I took it directly to Guitar center and had them look at it.. They agreed with the WTH? I passed on a replacement and kept the Jackson. Before I could really dive into 7 strings and mod the Jackson I got the headless bug.. No fault of the Jackson, but a reason to seek and buy new guitars is a hobby all its own.
yeah i agree that the pickups are kinda low tier, they can sound good if you dial the amp and pedals in but def needs an upgrade, but as for the knobs i dont agree my knobs move real smooth so i think maybe your friends guitar is just a bit dirty in the knobs give them a bit of a clean. also another good upgrade is a hipshot bridge or something similar, i wanna get this gold hipshot replica i found on amazon. then swap out the pickups for gold 7 string fishmans with gold locking tuners
Hi i have the guitar for a year and I like very much the playability. BUT the PU are atrocious especially for Death/Doom they are very muddy. I switched the bridge PU with Seymour Duncan Pegasus 7 and now is way better. Something really frustrating is that the little screw's in bridge hurt's my hand when palm muting. I have a problem with tuning and intonation in A Standard even with super fat strings (11 -64) . I don't know why. Overall is a good beginner guitar if you spend around 300-400 Euros you can make it great
I am that person who bought this to learn guitar.????
Hey man I love your videos so far been watching them back to back you should do some DIY guitar kits
I had the same experience as you and overall dig the guitar. It plays nicer than the old Washburn 7 string I used to have.
I will be upgrading the pickups at some point, but the stock ones are serviceable for now since I primarily am a 6 string player.
i'm a bassist aspiring to get more into guitar, I think this is a great choice and you've convinced me of that, thanks man! great video
Im going to get a 7 string as my first guitar. I’m also 36. I’m having a midlife crisis.
So, I am a novice guitar player. I'm actually a drummer, but I like fooling around with other instruments. I pick up on instruments pretty well. Im looking at getting a 7 string, but I don't want to spend a bunch being that I'm just using it to jam at home as a hobby, essentially. Is this worth buying? I have heard mixed reviews on this, and just don't want to waste my time or money if im going to have to do work to it out of the box. I wouldn't mind doing upgrades to it, as time goes on, but I do want it to be somewhat pleasant straight out of the box.
Bought this guitar as a test 7 string.Few months later I changed the pickups, pots, tuners and bridge and now she's a regular in my guitar roster.????????
I am a 6-string player. Bought this to try 7 strings. Changed the original pickups to JB-59 7- combo. For the money spent, just unbelievable.
Thanks for this. Super helpful review and really informative!
I'm just not a fan of black satin guitars :C I may have greasy hands or something but they always end having shining spots
Got one of those for $100. Dropped in a complete Emg active kit, tone ninja locking tuners, a graphtec xl nut, new revolver cylinder knobs and a pair of KoRn strings. It is a very customizable guitar.
Was searching for this guitar and auto subscribed because of channel´s name. When I saw the MGS1 clip in the back you got my respect. Oh, ahh, btw, perfect review! 😀
Just recieved the 7string king V version yesterday from Andertons via mail. Out the box the only minor issue was some dead notes/fret buzz around the first three frets on the three high strings. Left it 24hrs to acclimatise to my room temp…lol…then just a couple of small moves on the truss rod fixed the problem easily. Once the strings (stock supplied) were played in for an hour or two it has been really decent to play. I've played guitar for 30 years ( badly) and this is my first 7 string. Great fun doing the heavy chug riffs. Well worth the £250 in my opinion.
I find the bridge too close to the pickup. The 6 string version has more space between them which I like better for palming. I wonder if I can move the bridge back or swap out the bridge for something better for my playing style?
I have one of these. And yes, all the upgrades you said. I put some Tone Ninja locking tuners, some kind of new bridge, $50, Seymor Duncan Nazghul in the bridge pickup, havent done the nut yet. Took the neck pickup out, tone knob out, volume knob replaced with a kill switch. At just over $400 all around i can not believe how good this thing is.
