Thanks from Manila Philippines ❤
…and hv been playing woodwinds since then. The portemento ability and ear requirements of the bone hv got me hooked totally now.
Played around w a bone for a few days over 20 years ago n really loved it, thought seriously abt lessons then somebody threw a melody sax at me
I play trumpet, so this is already really easy
Good lesson! I begann with trombone a week ago.
Does these positions also apply on the tenor trombone?
Ill have to try one!!
Good clear instruction Shawn, thanks from England.
(Like the Sing, Buzz, Play technique – helps the pitch!)
Thanks – Good advice
Guys, Is it hard to learn this instrument?
Hi,sir. Can You tell me brand name mouthpieces ? Thanks so much
I have the same model trombone lol
its crazy cause im an ex tuba player (years ago) and i find the low notes to be extremely difficult but the f and eb come so naturally
I just played "When the Saints Go Marching In" with these 5 pitches. What a treat! Thank you.
i’m a flute thinking of doing trombone for next marching season :))
Thanks so much first day advanced band and forgot some of the notes over the summer
Hello there, I wonder if you can help? I'm trying my first notes. In first position I can play the Bb no problem but when I change the octave I play an Eb, instead of the F which is what I think it is supposed to be. Any ideas why? Grateful for any help.
???? ????
As a trumpet player the buzzing is so shockingly looser it’s hard to wrap my head around lol
Thanks Shawn. I played when I was a kid, but unfortunately gave it up after about two years. Today I purchased a trombone at a flea market and videos like yours will hopefully get me back into the swing of things (no pun intended).
Super demo, great explanation – this is the best teacher you could wish for !!
This dude is smaller than the trombone!????????????
Me as guitarist seen this:
Im in high school and was planniny to play bari sax in jazz but there wasnt enough and i wasnt exactly qualified because its been years since i played???? so i was put on trombone and this video helped so kich with the problem that so many other things had since i either couldnt see the position i was suposed to be in or hear the note. THANKS SO MUCH ❤
Were are the other notes ? Please
I havent played in 6 years and it feels like I lost my touch. Thanks for the video
my bass trombone 1st position is not "all the way in". I have to pull my hand slide out half an inch or so. Is this normal? Pulling the main tuning slide out does not help and just makes the tone /focus go out.
I find my reynolds trombone, that I just got a mind boggling good deal on, feels quite unbalanced on my shoulder. For starters, it's front heavy but more of a struggled is when I set the slide 90 degrees from the bell side , that bell side wants to turn counter clockwise and rest on my shoulder flat. In terms of comfort, that might be where it is most comfortable and effortless to hold that position, but of course, that turns my mouthpiece counterclockwise so that it's close to my left ear. Having said that, if I open the ange up to about 135 degrees, everything lines up and I only have to contend with the front heavy issue. I'm thinking of putting a counterweight on the back end t deal with that. Obviously I'm doing something wrong or need to start working out at a gym to strengthen my left arm. So what am I doing wrong ?
Where was this when I jus started out
Now I know to play it
My son really enjoyed this tutorial! THANK U????
This is probably a dumb question, but as someone who in their dotage is trying to learn the trombone I'll ask it anyway. Why don't makers of trombones, at least for 'beginner trombones, put markings on the inner slide that would indicate where the positions are? Granted, for some notes these slide positions may have to be varied a bit, but it still would be helpful.
thanks i got a trombone from school and ur videos are helping alot!
A long time friend and pianist had an old Yamaha trombone laying around his house taking up space. I’m a bassist and I mentioned to my friend that I planned to take up the trombone in my old age. I offered to buy it and my friend gave me the trombone for free! Your instructional videos will help immensely. LET’S PLAY!!!!!
thank you so much i took my trombone home to practice but realized i forgot how to play over the summer and im in concert band with a audition in 1week and u have reminded me how to play
Good teacher. Now learning to play. Really enjoying and appreciate your lessons.
im switching from Bes Bas to trombone….the biggest thing for me is to know the positions for every note…pfffff…Is it useful to write The Slide Positions at the notes if you are just starting out with the trombone.
I’m here because I begged my band teacher for me to join jazz band as a d,Ute and he said no and I asked him can I learn any other instrument and he said he needs trombone and now I’m here lol
How are they supposed to know what an Eb sounds like before they sing it? You might want to explain that F is sol in Bb, Bb is do, and they're playing sol-fa-mi-re-do.
I farted while doing this
1 star
I’m about to start playing trombone????
I enjoyed this!
