Nux B-5RC Wireless Guitar/Bass System – Review, Rundown, and Demo
In this video we are checking out the Nux B-5RC wireless guitar system for guitar/bass. This will be a review, as well as a rundown of how the system works, some of the specs, and a demo of the system. I was really hesitant to try out a new 2.4ghz system when Nux sent me this to try out, but I was really surprised with how well this one works, and all the extra features it has! It’s a very well designed wireless system, and I explain why in this video.

I have the lekato was 70 and it has some hiss when high gain, are there hiss free modules in the 600-900mhz frequencies?
Any long term review for this? Thanks!
I have been using this for gigs and rehearsals for about 6 months. I can confirm this is a great system.
I just purchased mine and after watching your video, I'm exited to use mine for my active bass guitars ❤
Sir your video is excellent and The nux’s audio quality is very good and the connection is also great but the battery is very bad, very bad and the worst part is that there is no proper service even in places like Mumbai in India. The battery of my device started draining in 10-15 min after one year of use and after many calls for the last few months, I always got very disappointing response … don’t know how to react on this
Active pickups sorry not with my gibson sg 2014
Thank you, I bought mine based on your review and couldnt be happier
I wonder why they fcuk it up with their C-5RC 5ghz model that it doesn’t work with active pickups unless with a converter!
Excellent, thorough review. Well done. Thank you.
Thanks for the video. I would appreciate and A/B with the wired sound.
What about passive pickups?
is it good for bass with active preamp?
i have problems with buzzing and hum
This does not work with Dingwall NG and Ibanez basses in active mode – there's a horrible humming noise at around 1.6 khz that makes it impossible to use. A shame really since the system itself is very practical and smart… the noise disappears however when switching the bass to passive mode
can it run with on charging?
I ❤ mine! BTW, it's pee-ay-zo.
Mine lasted a month being used twice, maybe 30 min on them … wont charge… Pieces of junk.
This just isn't accurate. I have an L R Baggs M80 on one acoustic and a Fishman Rare Earth Mic Blend on another. This Nux system results in an unacceptable high-pitched whine from both of them.
Octapad use
BEST EVER! Works with ACTIVE Basses! Lasts through live show. Minimal dropouts. Long range for those of us who like to run around the stage or into the audience. Only negative: the zipper on the case broke.
Really good review. Answered all my questions. Thank you!
How do you use one of these with a pedal board?
it works while charging both the transmitter and the receiver?
Nice video! I have a Parker fly with a stereo female jack. Will this system transmit separate R & L for my piezo and magnetic puck-ups?
$150. You gotta be kidding me.
All of these small plug and play wireless are junk. No battery life. No range. Only good for practice local dive bar gigs.
Thank you for this video.
I bought this system after watching it.
It's the best I've tried for my bass.
I've played about 30 meters distanced from the receptor and it hasn't been a problem.
I play in the church before the mass, then sit and play again after 45 minutes.
The mixer sits away from me and no one sit next to it.
When I play again after 45 minutes, the unit that’s plugged in my guitar already went into sleep mode, which I’ll press on it to bring it back to life.
Fir the unit that’s plugged in the mixer, do I need also someone to press on it to bring it to life, or will it detects that the guitar side is active now and connects back?
Superb!! You answered every question I had about these systems. Your delivery is great, Hols ones attention & is very informative!. Thanks much & rock on!!
holy shit I always thought that was pronounced as "nucks"
It's the same with many NUX products. All correctly priced and work great.
What do you mean the case can charge them 3 times?
What is that riff you're playing when you're testing the cleans?
Thank you for your review! I am a little confused. You say in the video there are 19 channels this can transmit on. With 2.4 GHz aren't there only 14 frequencies (11 in the US) that the device can transmit on?
Here's a detailed review explaining a significant problem with active pick ups.. https://youtu.be/zLzFr0bJS2g
I use the Nux B-5RC with a bass guitar to study at home. Sometimes it has a little signal cutting, I think it is because I use it near my ISP modem that uses 2.4 hz frequency. Have you heard about that issue? How I can solve it? great review by the way…
I bought this very recently and I found that it has a whine, I use a blade rh4 took it to a local guitar shop and has been discovered that even at an Inch away the whine begins to disappear
So one of my guitarists got one of these and the other guitarist and I are very interested in getting one, too. But we are a bit worried that the wireless signals of 2 or more of this will interfere to each other. Have you tested that, too?
microUSB..Meh!
Will this stop my ground noise issues
Mine connect to each other just fine but as soon as I plug in my transmitter it shuts off?
Hi, I checked your video out of curiositiy because I use a Nux B-5RC and I do have problems with my piezo instrument. Actually I use 2 different instruments, A Godin A8 mandolin with combined piezo and custom humbucker. No problem with this one. But on my Kala U-Bass I do have a hiss issue with the Nux transmitter. I tried puting the transmiter away from the preamp (on my shoulder strap) and although it reduces the hiss it does not always supress it. The solution is not stable and this is very annoying on stage. I have the same experience and result using an XVive. I suspect an issue with the U-Bass preamp (the standard Shadow they provide) but could not a solution from Kala support team.
Do you have any suggestion?
Thank you for the video, the in screen editing made me laugh ????????????
Not working with Yamaha THR 30ii … anyone know how to make it work…..?
thank you!!!
Hey. First of all, thanks for the review, it's amazing!
I want ask,
I play the violin, and I built myself a piezo pickup that is balanced. According to this guide
https://www.instructables.com/Balanced-piezo-contact-microphones/
(my pickup has a 6.35mm female balanced connector)
Do you know of any wireless guitar system that can work with my pickup and keep it balanced?
Does the NUX that works with an active pickup also have a balanced connection?
I would appreciate if you have an answer for me
Thank you
Sweet. Thanks Scott! I have a Shure in-ear PSM200 receiver that uses a 9 volt battery. And little Martin guitar with a Fishman transducer that also uses a 9 volt battery, active pickup system this would be perfect for. I wrote you a message regarding rechargeable 9 volt batteries. Have you done a video on the different brands and types of rechargeable 9 volt batteries? I watched another YouTube video and so far I'm kind of looking at four different brands. The Bonso High drain capacity that does not come with a charger. The Deleepow that has a charging port built in to it. The Tenergy that I don't think comes with a charger? And the EBL 600 mA. Supposedly they are high capacity rechargeable 9 volt batteries? None of them come with chargers. And cost verries with different price points. I'm going to need to have four for my two devices, so I have a backup for each. Have you done a video reviewing rechargeable 9 volt batteries Brands and the pros and cons like you do on other equipment? If so if you could provide me the link that would be helpful. And if not hopefully I've given you a new topic to explore and video to do for us. Thanks again!
PS: I was the guy who sent you a PM on the rechargeable battery subject.
Sold !!!! Been watching your earlier vids on this topic. You sold me on the 2.4ghz when I was looking at the 5.8ghz, sold me on the NuX when I wanted the Boss WL20-L for active pickups, and saved me several of our quaint English pounds over the price of the Boss. My earbuds charge in the same way: such a good idea – You got a subscription – have a like as well. ????.
I recently got this one and tried it with an active pickup bass guitar (spector euro 4lx) and for some reason there's this high pitched noise that's constantly ringing, i tried it with a fender boxer bass (With a passive pickup) and the sound went, is there any ways i could dodge this when i want to play an active bass? the manual says use a female to male adaptor but i cant find any good ones
I know you've probably gotten this question 100 times but I own an Ibanez Prestige 5006 (6-String) Bass and an Ibanez BTB 747 (7-String) Bass and I have an issue of the transmitter making a noise/hum. How do I eliminate this noise? Do I need an extension adapter? Are the C-RC's better?
Hi. I'm using nux stageman as my acoustic guitar pedal. However when I pair that with the ammoon 5.8ghz wireless, I get a humming sound from my guitar. Will this nux b5rc resolve the humming sound?
