I am still waiting for the Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson episode.
This is incredibly encouraging. It tells me that what I'm trying to learn to do is the right thing to learn to do. Which means I'm not a freak!
Mark King – Level 42. Lead singer and Bass Payer too.
Practice, practice, practice
Paul McCartney
Jimmy Bee bassist from Sydney's Cyril B Bunter Band plays some really complex bass and sings. He's been doing it since the 1970s when I first saw them play. They play blues/boogie Whenever John Mayall came to Sydney Cyril B Bunter opened for him. They are one of the best blues bands around
Just so you know, in their earlier albums like suck on this, Tommy the cat was way slower, my conclusion is, Les practiced so hard that he said screw it and sped up the song
It's incredibly hard to play bass and sing but the late John Wetton did it in most of the bands he played. Esp. Asia, U.K.
You should ask Geddy what's it like to play bass, sing and play synthesizer. ????
Ah waddaya know, reps and practice is all it is
Claypool and his Bass made Primus happen!
How did Les become such a good singer? Practice, practice practice.????
Long-suffering singing bassist here. It's nice to hear that he has to practice as well. ????????
It's totally different to sing and play bass than sing and play guitar… You know, I can easily sing while playin a guitar but with bass I get confused and so on!
So I guess it takes more focus to play bass than play guitar.
It makes no sense. Said any one listening to a primus song
This interview was great!
It really is very difficult for most people, it's like trying to talk while your own voice is being played back to you on a delay.
i learnt to sing and play guitar at the same time by playing About A Girl for an entire day. then just practiced more and more. still struggle every time i learn a new song but it gets easier every time
My favorite Primus song….❤❤❤
Hard to do both? Geddy Lee, Sting, Paul McCartney, Gene Simmons, Kip Winger, and plenty more, far fewer Drummer singers than bass singers.
Absolutely wild bass player
