Lovepedal Hermida Audio Zendrive | Review

  • Outstanding pedal! I have one of the originals, which Hermida signed inside. The serial number is the production date, and it's marked with a Sharpie! What a pedal!

  • Any advice whether this pedal is expected to perform as shown if placed in the effects loop rather than on the front end? I just bought one but only tried it in the effects loop and it's not transparent like this, it's muddy and bassy. Thinking I got a lemon.

  • Great demo! One where the guy can actually play, how weird! I just ordered one of these for my Silverface Super Reverb and I can’t believe I didn’t buy one sooner. The most responsive, smooth sounding overdrive pedal I’ve ever owned. It can do light, dynamic bluesy overdrive sounds with my Strat and Tele, then can go right into nasty singing sustain lead sounds with my Les Paul Custom. Now matter how much gain you have it never loses its responsiveness or becomes muddy. I can wait to see how this works for shows in the near future!

  • Have this exact version of the zendrive and I’ve been slowly turning the guys around me onto it. As far as “non-tube screamer” type overdrives, this is my second favorite…eclipsed only by my king/prince of tone pedals. Which, honestly, that’s saying a lot. My king of tone is like a baby’s pacifier…I get all cranky and fussy without it. The zendrive actually makes a great companion for the KOT. It handles the really smooth, “expensive” guitar sounds when you need them and believe it or not, stacks quite well. I’ve found that a lot of character overdrives just don’t do that. It’s absolutely AMAZING for dinner sets and sparse, ballady tunes with a lot of space for the pedal’s detail to shine through. Definitely one of my “never going to sell it” pedals ????

  • Really great playing and presentation of the pedal. Not sure I like the pedal but thanks!
