  • Great comparison with the wood-bodied guitars! I liked the sound of them all, including the Enya. However, the wooden guitars all sounded better to me, broader and brighter sound, than the Enya. That is something I reckon depends a lot on the settings used on the Enya at any particular moment of playing.

What I am missing is a demonstration of the Enya in pure acoustic mode, nothing turned on, no speaker playing through the sound hole, in comparison to the other guitars. That would have been quite interesting. This leaves me with a question: Is the Enya simply not worth playing without the electronics turned on? If that is the case, that doesn’t mean it isn’t a good guitar, but it puts it closer to a solid-body electric guitar in that it is dependent upon pickups and manipulation of the signal they produce.

It would also be interesting to see a comparison between the Enya and one or more of Yamaha’s wood-body transacoustic guitars.

Modern times, smart guitars—it’s a great time to be a guitarist! So many possibilities opening up!

I highly enjoyed your excellent review, and am now a subscriber. Looking forward to more videos about modern guitars. Have you explored the use of Enya’s app for the guitars? I wonder if it’s possible to increase the gain on the internal mic to find a balance one likes between it and the piezo pickup, and to perhaps make the instrument more suitable for use in percussive playing.

  • No one seems to know what carbon fiber is. I just inspected this guitar that a friend ordered. It is a big solid piece of plastic with some kind of carbon fiber print on the face. Heavy as hell. I did warn him.

  • You make it sounds so good, what do you think about the mini version of this guitar? What song do you play in the comparison?

  • Спасибо за обзор! Он рекламный? Сам присматриваюсь к данной гитаре. Ее нужно доводить? Высоту струн например.
P.S. Твой Аосен все равно вне конкуренции, но не могу найти такую гитару в продаже, к сожалению

  • If you want to get away from the "plasticy" sound of an under-saddle Piezo, use a disk Piezo placed on the underside of the soundboard behind the Bridge. That will also get the guitar to respond more to percussive playing. But that converts the entire guitar into a "microphone," which can be undesirable. The Enya brand is doing a good job honing in on a much more natural acoustic sound.

  • That sound sample blew me away, can’t believe how rich the tone is for a carbon fiber body! The built-in FX and preamp are such a bonus at this price point. Thanks for the thorough review!

  • Yea carbon fiber is good, like in my Vigier Excalibur electric guitar, neck with 10% carbon fiber. No trussroad, always perfect setting and never care about humidity 🙂 btw your Aosen sounds georgeous.

  • Кажется всё-таки она не звучит как полномассивная, особенно по вч и средним частотам и их детальности. Динамика другая, на записи кажутся более отзывчивыми деревянные. Мне больше нравится твой основной инструмент.

  • I assume you had no problem with the action? Mine came a little high for my preference, I sanded down the saddle quite a bit to lower the strings.

  • Thanks a TON for doing a side-by-side comparison with other, wooden guitars. That was super helpful! You mentioned that it might not be the best option for the percussive style of playing you do, and given my absolute ignorance on most things acoustic (being a primarily electric player), how do you go about getting the best out of percussive playing on any given acoustic guitar? Can it work on acoustic electric guitars that plug in, or do you need to have some sort of separate pickup/insert to have those sounds without needing to literally mic up the acoustic? (My personal goal would be to be able to play percussively without the need to put a microphone in front of the guitar) Any/all input would be super appreciated since you appear to be an expert in that field! Thanks in advance!

  • ей бы хамбакер и сингл приделать в бридж и нек соответственно – был бы самый универсальный инструмент

  • Although I prefer the tones of the wooden acoustics, the Enya sounds decent.

I can’t deny how good it looks and the overall benefits of a composite for durability.

  • I always thought that acoustic guitars should be made from wood, and the quality of the wood determines the quality of the sound, and therefore the cost of the guitar, but you turned my world upside down ????
