The bass filled timbre of the instrument allows for new colorations of existing songs and opens the imagination to creating new melodies. The problem has often been cost. There are not very many baritone guitars available from manufacturers but the ones that are tend to cost thousands. Enter the Alvarez ABT60E! This affordable Baritone acoustic guitar brings the baritone acoustic to a budget price, allowing more players to enjoy the bass without breaking the bank. The lower price comes with some trade-offs so watch until the end for Chris and Cooper’s honest take.

Would you do a comparison video of the Alvarez against the Ibanez ACFS380BT-OPS?
Can you tune a baritone D to D instead of B to B without wrecking the guitar?
I'm having a hard time choosing between this and a Guild BT-240 based on videos, what the youtube people thinks?
Are you guys going to review the awesome Harley Benton Baritone CLG-414BCE NT?
That’s Tony Monocastro!
Changing the nut is not at all a big deal. But it's true that you can't put so much extra tension on the neck.
Beautiful sounding and Wonderful Playing!
I just tuned my acoustic down to the baritone tuning and it's sounds fine ..don't know until you try it..
I have this guitar in black and it’s a blast to play. When I play with others each Sunday I’ll bring it when there are other acoustics in the lineup already, so I can hang out in my own range of the tonal spectrum.
I have a 2021 Alvarez ABT610EBK baritone guitar (the all black one) and it's a blast to play. Santa Cruz Parabolic Baritone Mid Tension Strings are the best (13p 16.5p 24 33 45 56).
Beautiful playing – I love it. Surprised at how much brighter this is on line input!
Hardly can find a good pair of baritone strings, may I know what strings are you using?
Awesome playing and presentation. Thank you ????
Totally addicted to yalls channel ????
You don’t even carry Alvarez ????
Chris….as always…thanks for the great content. If one was to step up and make a more expensive baritone purchase, since you have reviewed and played the Taylor 410e Baritone, the 516e Baritone, and the newer 326ce 6-string Baritone, I was wondering what your thoughts were on how these Taylors compare to each other. I also wondered if you ever played the Martin J-28LSE Baritone. If yes, how do you think it compares to the Taylors? Thanks.
What a beautiful performance, Damn!
The electronics sound dead. I've heard solidbody electrics with more natural sounding piezo bridge pickups. I'd have to use an acoustic simulator to make that sound acoustic live.
Awesome review guys
Hard to tell if this guitar is that great or if the guitarist is just that good!!!
Great demo! I waited a long time to get my Taylor 326e baritone Ltd and still play it frequently. As a bass-baritone voice singer it allows me to play songs I normally couldn’t handle, like John Denver. Wish I had seen a video like this 10 years ago. I would have bought this guitar.
Does the Alvarez ABT60E have a truss rod?
I have a soft spot for Alvarez. It was the instrument I learned on and allowed me to play the way I do today.
I've gotta say–thank you for demoing this guitar by playing more simple pieces as well. Most reviews/demos are just showing off; you barely heard the guitar sing. Your playing showed the beautiful tones and nuances of the guitar. Great job! Hoping to get one soon!
Ball-end nylon baritone strings. Do they exists or am I chasing a ghost?
Acoustic-tone-wise, it is quite blaaa and disappointing. The pickup is junk. Pure quack quack quack.
Alvarez is a great brand. I own a couple of nice Alvarez acoustic guitars.
I knew we couldn't get through a video without Chris bringing up Taylor,,,,,,Geezzzz.!!!!
corn on acoustic is my favorite summer picnic snack
These 2 guys could play a turd n make it sound like the best guitar in the world!
I have a Alvarez 12 sting that i got back in 91 and Alvarez was a low to mid end guitar n now ive seen their acustics now going for 2500.. 3800.. none were under 899! When back n the day their top high end wasnt much at all… or the shops just didnt carry them.
I think this guitar needs to "open up." In six+ months it will sound even better. Glad to hear that you are getting in Alvarez guitars. They claim that their laminate backs and sides are made of only three plies of hardwood not cheaper composite. I have one and it sounds very good. Their all-solid guitars have an excellent reputation. And yes, I'll take a corn acoustic t-shirt.
Beautiful sound on this. I kind of want one
I now want one!!
Thanks for the education on these Baritones guys, they really do sound so nice. I don’t own one but you guys have certainly got me thinking about one down the road ????
When you play it would be great to let us know what the pices are…..so we can try the same thing. Cheers from oz
I own one. It is awesome.
Alvarez makes some great guitars.
The best flat top I have ever played or heard bar none was a “law suit” K Yari Alvarez 5060. I owned it for nearly 40 years then gave it to my son.
I have two of their newer models both are dreadnoughts. One is made in Japan and of solid Honduran mahogany the other is made in China and is solid rosewood. These higher end Alvarez guitars are proof that you do not have to break the bank to get a great quality instrument both in looks, playability and sound.
I own a $6000 custom shop Gibson Pre-war J200 all rosewood guitar and I love it but these two Alvarez guitars are the ones I play everyday, day in and day out. Hats off to you guys for spot lighting these often overlooked gems.
An Alvarez travel guitar comparison would be awesome! Little Jumbo, Delta Delite, etc
