This new type of amp is a mix between a Fender Tone Master Pro, iPad, and computer all in one device. You can use it via USB-C, record directly to the unit, connect it to an audio interface, or just practice to backing tracks. This covers the user-experience including pros, cons, and bugs I found. Best sounding demo I've heard yet… also, interesting as you suggest the case is aluminum which would make sense as this is supposed to have a metal case, another review unit on YouTube was reported as having been made from plastic, which makes me wonder if they were wrong? Or if there are two different case constructions being sent for demo?

This is an interesting product, although I find it disappointing that some companies release products to reviewers, before they are market-ready. ????
While Lava seems like an inventive company with several musical tech products, pre-release buggy software is a reminder that all software-driven products (Amps, Cars, whatever) are only as reliable as the manufacturer's ongoing software support. ????♂️

Hey for that issue you have with the dials. Its because of the gesture settings, you can change them to go round or slide up and down. I dont think its a bug.
Crazy??? Not really, it's just yet another modler but with a big screen.
I like actual guitar amps with tubes in them but if you feel the need for an "amp" with big flashy touch screen and a ton of amp models then enjoy I guess.
If this could display sheet music at the same time it would be awesome. It's very cool.

Already have my Yamaha THR30ii. Nothing else is needed. If they release a newer model THR with an FX loop and channel switching pedal, I'll trade it in for the new one.
There are so many things that are wrong with this, from practically to usability outside your room. But none of it really matters since it sounds really bad, and there's post-production here. So imagine how it would sound in person. This is just an expensive toy for those who don't know what good tone is.

The built in jam tracks and key selection is the most intressting feature in my opinion. the short-livedness of gagets like this would would make me hesitate to open my wallet. Whe knows if you could still use the youtube app in 5-10 years? Thanks for this great review! Like your new studio and the use of different angels!
It's very forward-thinking and I'm sure this type of thing will become more common. Eventually more amps will have touchscreen interfaces in some way. It's not for me (I prefer something more reliable with real knobs) but it's a cool option.

It is a computer with its own operating system in reality. At least that's how I see it. Awesome tool. Is there a DI out to the house pa or sound system?
