People HATE This Guitar!? | Epiphone Yungblud SG Junior Review

#epiphone #yungblud

Probably the most controversial guitar @OfficialEpiphone has release lately has arrived in the Pink Room of Doom! this is 1 of 0nly 600 made WORLDWIDE! This is the Epiphione @yungblud SG Junior!

But, why is this release so…controversial? Hated? Misunderstood? Y’all don’t think this isn’t the coolest release that Epiphone has had in a while? I understand it is a signature guitar for an artist you may have never heard of and that hurt your feelings, but its still an EPIPHONE SG JUNIOR, which hasn’t been in the catalogue for YEARS, and especially not a non-bolt on P90 version. It isn’t plastered with his signature or anything like other signature models of the past, so it’s literally just a white SG Junior. That’s it. Why are you so upset? Tell me your thoughts down in the comments!

  • I don't care what people think. or say about YB or the Guitar. If it allows you to create something cool, then it's a nice guitar! With the Case, it's an incredible value! It's any guitar you want it to be. Never had a girl ask me about what type of wood my guitar was made out of! or what the name on the headstock is! Who cares, plug in and turn it up! Thx brother. Got a brand new Slash LP with a case at GC for $499 out the door! Plus it's Sanctioned and backed by Gibson, Not another knock-off Chibby.

  • Hey, I actually ended up here because I've really been digging Jake E. Lee as of late and realized both him and Eddie Van Halen has played a white SG junior. More so with JEL as his famous Charvel is based on this color scheme. I have a Les Paul Custom and a PRS Singlecut, but needed something that leaned more towards indie, alt rock while not losing the hard rock edge. This must be the perfect new guitar for me. Thank for the great video

  • I just bought this guitar on July 4th. My husband plays guitar and has several, but I wanted one of my own so I could learn. I am a newbie fan of Yungblud and thought, “Why not?” And I gotta say, I looooove this guitar! My husband loves it too, and plays it more than I do.

  • An SG Jr with a hard case for a decent price? I'm all for it. It could be the Corey Feldman signature model and I'd still be all for it. The only reason that I'd be hesitant is my experience with the Joan Jett Olympic, which is a hot mess due to it's horrible fret work.

  • Never heard of the guy and couldn’t care less about him.
But I want that guitar, and as usual living in the arse end of the world we don’t even get the chance to buy one.
I don’t buy guitars because it’s signature guitar. I buy guitars for the look first then playability ????
    Great looking guitar.

  • Not a fan of yungblud, but this guitar is unique af, at the end of the day, it's pretty hard to get an sg junior nowadays

  • I had never heard of Youngblood until your video…and of course I bought one. I absolutely love it and I mainly own Gibsons. This is an amazing deal.

  • Love how Epiphone has been knocking it out of the park ever since the Inspired by series. This is just another fantastic deal. Putting Gibson to shame as of late.

  • I'd never heard his music prior to this whole thing but I really don't get the hate. I mean, sure, it's not my cup of tea, either, but who cares? He doesn't seem to be a "force of negativity", so to speak, in the world, he doesn't appear to bother anyone and I've got to say the few songs of his I listened to were quite good for that sort of music. Plus, if this motivates younger people to start playing how could this be bad? Saying that he is not Page/Clapton is like saying we shouldn't listen to anything post Bach/Mozart etc just because they are not them.

P.S.: I, also, really like the guitar, I would seriously consider it if I was shopping for a guitar right now.

  • Agreed never heard of youngblood but jrs are awesome, dont want decal throw it out like you said its a jr! with set neck and hard shell case! whats not to like? hope and wish epi uses this platform to offer this in silverburst. never seen a jr in silverburst, sg with humbuckers yes seen many. Its weird i never cared for a silverburst les paul but the sg shape with color combination does something for me, probably in the minorty on that but oh well. Great upload and glad epi offers atleast this sweet white one even if we dont get any more cool colors.

  • <WARNING: I've been doing shots while running this guitar through my new 15w EVH Iconic Series 5150 combo* while composing my thoughts here. (* Combo is 1×10. I changed the impedance setting and added a 1×12 cab. "Whoa, Nellie!")>
    I don't get it.
Anyone hating on this guitar because of Yungblud is as ig'nant as someone hating Strats because the lead singer of The Knack played one.
Background: I'm a late-era Boomer who grew up listening to the Beatles, Yardbirds, Floyd, Zeppelin, Jimi, Purple, Queen, Yes, Lizzy, Skynyrd, Mountain, Stones…
I discovered this axe when it dropped via an online article.
I went to Zzounds' website, read the specs, and IMMEDIATELY placed my order.
    Limited Edition. 600 units.
Set neck, Epi P-90 PRO pickup, full-size CTS pots, hardshell case. All for $600.
I'd never heard of Yungblud. I'm not knocking the guy, it's just that I don't frequent the sewers through which most new music passes.
    Buttennyweigh, back to this geetar…
    It's a finely crafted instrument.
I've wanted a white SG Jr. since around 1985/86 when I saw Jake E. Lee playing one with that guy from The Magic Lanterns; John Osbourne.
I had a Gibson model years ago that I later traded to recover a killer Strat I had foolishly sold. The Gibson was really sweet, but it felt flimsy. (I'm a southpaw who plays righty. I grip the neck tightly. Notes would be flat and chords out of tune.) This Epi is more rigid and thus better for me.
The guitar itself has no signature markings. (The only thing connecting this axe to Yungblud is a bumper sticker inside the case.)
I'd recommend that anyone interested in this guitar should act quickly.
All of the major online retailers are now sold out, but some "indies" still have it in stock.
Epi's website shows the model backordered until December.
    600 models they said.
    Those be gone, y'all.
I'm guessing that what shows up in December will have a bolt-on neck, the regular P-90 pup and no hardshell case.
    Carpe Diem, folks!
I have mine, so if y'all miss out, well.. Too damn bad.

  • This is a helpful and inspiring review. Many thanks. As to the online detractors, the music audience in America has too many toxic gatekeeper wannabe's. There is a lot going on with music and guitar playing in the big, wide world. Its too bad they will miss most of it.

  • So, i bought one and it arrived a broken piece of flimsy garbage. ???? I don't need one bad enough to wait until December. Zzounds can s@ck it

  • It might be one thing if it were another Les Paul signature, but an SG Jr isn’t even available – so I’m a fan. I also have no idea who the guy is or his music

  • I'm not a fan, but I'll put money on YungBlud being a better guitar player than Waterpistol Kelly. Plus, as a stripped-down SG, with a P-90, that is a pretty rad guitar. And I'm an 80s Metal dude! Epiphone has released SGs. I got an Epiphone Tony Iommi… ????

  • I am buying it because its an SG Jr. has nothing to do with its an signature model at all????

  • The hate is so dumb. Kid grew up in a guitar shop, plays pretty damn well, entertaining as hell, and gives these away during shows all the time.

No one hating on this has likely never written an original song, little lone one people might actually enjoy.

  • You really lose out with this guitar.. Just buy a two p90 pickup one and switch to the bridge pickup for this tone.. Then you will have all of the other tonal options too.. Its a no brainer.

  • for me its like i wouldn't get it for yungblud, i would just get it because iv been waiting almost 5 years for epiphone to release an sg jr like this

  • 2:10 "Take this crap of here" How dare you, that was Yungbloods wraping paper cover, specialy designad by him for this lovely guitar, why so much hate bro? ????????????
I have no idea who Yungblood is, but guitar is super cool!

  • I don’t know or care wtf Youngblood is, but an SG Junior from Epiphone with great specs, design and execution… Holy moses – it hasn’t seen the inside of the case since i pulled it out… And the price??? This is a WINNER

  • I personally think this guitar may be one of the most important releases in the guitar world in years. Not necessarily because it exceeds in quality or innovation compared to other guitars, but because of YB's popularity to inspire a new generation to pickup the instrument. He's no Hendrix or Gilmore, and that's ok. He's just a lad genuinely having fun with the instrument and if he can inspire his young demographic to pickup a guitar and have fun. Then that's all that matters.

This guitar addresses my biggest criticism with the MGK signature Schecter, while both MGK & YB played a role in Rock's resurgence in popularity in recent years. Those inspire by MGK to play his music will find his signature guitar's price quite steep, close to the $1K mark. This guitar tar at $600 is perfect for someone who can't break the bank and can access the instrument his favourite artist uses. As far as I'm concerned, Epiphone and YB have succeeded in that. As long as it inspires young folks to pick up and play the best instrument in the world (yes, guitar is the best instrument imo, sue me), then I'm all for it.

  • People hate it because he claimed only he was playing an SG Junior these days. Oh and his family was famous for forging hundreds of vintage guitars in the biggest fraud case of its kind. Search for Music Ground fraud on google. Despite that it's great value for money.

  • A solid af SG without any bs, at 600? why tf people mat LMFAO. Dude makes decent music too.

  • people in the guitar world just mind that yungblud is an emo rapper and not a rocker. I do not care. I play the blues and I will definitely buy this guitar

  • Don't know who he is but am glad. If he's big and the kids like him and he's playing guitar music I'm 100% down.

  • After playing a few of the Epiphone "Inspired by Gibson" guitars, and being impressed with their quality, I'd hoped an SG Junior would make it into the roster. Since none had when the Gibson "Original Collection" was released, I wound up finding one of those SG Juniors used. Now I have that and this Epiphone, and I'm very happy with both. The price point for the Epi is pretty decent, considering the quality and the few options available without paying for a vintage guitar.

  • Yungblud is from the UK. He is know for giving away guitar at his shows and is starting his own Blud festival because some people can’t afford the outrageous prices that promoters charge so he is own festival. Love or hate him I stand behind what he is doing trying to get music into the hand of people that like music He bring British music popular again

  • Id never heard of Yungblud but a 64 SG replica in vintage white and a pink fur lined case…on top only 600 to be made I went for it…plugged it in and this guitar is awesome, the controls taper nicely so you can get a variety of tones from the one p90. Very happy guitar buy!!
