I had one for one day, it was not working.. said online it may be vpn(public wifi in my building, also none of their business how I protect myself online!!)
Reinstalled app, updated firmware, factory reset.. still no sound.
Tried to contact Positive Grid, got a stupid chat bot that told me to do the same stuff i already did.. then offered me a ticket with a three day wait. No way to speak to a human being, who maybe could have fixed the problem.
Never buying another app based amp again. Spit on it( just kidding), and sent it back to Amazon to throw in the trash..
So a guitar, a cable, and spark mini is enough to play? No other requirement needed?
I feel like these are made to be used on the rubber back. Place it face up with the rubber back on a coffee table and you'll get some nice extra resonance. Fun little gadget to keep in your end table drawer.
What wireless system do you recommend mate? Hell btw from the US!
Do you play a eric johnson strat?
I'm holding back on the Spark Live until I see your review. Thanks for all you do!!
Hello. I just got the Spark go. What wireless system under $100 do you recommend to practice at home that would work well for electro-acoustic guitar, ukelele and electric guitar? Thanks
Forget the stock drivers in these units. You can run the Spark GO to a Bluetooth or PA speaker like a JBL Partybox, Klipsch Gig Speaker, etc. that will take care of that problem. You can also connect a wireless pedal board like the Spark Control board or XSonic Airstep and have an entire Minimalist Rig.
Just got mine and think it's a great bit of kit. Love it
Nice overview! Just got one of these for the living room… I was worried I’d need to crank it (with all the speaker distortion that entails) but it’s actually much louder than I was expecting, definitely useable at half volume and less. Looking forward to more thoughts from you once you’ve spent a bit more time with it. Thanks for the video
Smart move, this video. That amp is getting cosmic reviews all over the planet. (Earth)
You said you'd mention a recommendation for a wireless pack below, but I can't see it. What would that be?
Looking to pick one of these up.
What is the wireless system that you recommend?
Stop abusing Dr. Ric !
????????????
I love mine too. I have an old Bose Sound Dock that I use the aux/headphone with. Lot louder and less speaker breakup. With this setup, I can carry all I need in two hands to go play with a friend; and it uses only one electric output. The battery lasts for hours like this.
Get the cab makes the difference
What's wrong with the wireless system, you cant just say its no good without some justification
Love my Spark GO! Such a great little amp. Great impressions video mate!
I ordered one but send it back. For me it sounded awful even for what it is.
The biggest thing I don't like about my Go is that the form factor is so inconvenient that you basically have to use wireless with it or it just flops all over the place. It's just not heavy enough for how it's made to be used. And then the speaker is too small to sound nice, so you end up using headphones and retethering yourself to it. And if all that isn't inconvenient enough, you have to use your phone to make any real settings changes.
Just using your phone and some software as the interface turns out to be better.
Works great with headphones as it uses the same software as other sparks. For a small home practice amp the mini is much better than the go as the go doesn’t have a full sound or enough volume. Great for what it’s designed for which is ultra portability.
I'll have to head to the music store and try one.
I have all Spark models but the Go is the one I enjoy the most as sound great with both the guitar and as a Bluetooth speaker. By the way, I have a suggestion mate, please keep the mic out of the frame as it is very distracting, it’s a lot better to see a clean screen.
Awesome! Shane (and everyone), what's your recommendation for a dad (me) who needs a small amp to keep up out of the way of toddlers? Portability and price not too important, and I use mostly clean tones.
Sounds good for what it is, nice playing too.
If you didnt jazz up those tones post they sound really good.
No matter how much gimmick manipulation they put on this, it will still suffer from small BOX syndrome!
Does sound ok, for what it is.
Emulated outs WILL be a lot better of course!
Have come close to purchasing this several times. Glad you did this review!
My thought was when everyone is at the campfire/firepit and playing acoustics,.. I could surprise them playing the songs correctly! Hahaha!
Just strap to my hip and go! That'd be wild! Very cool Review Shane! Thanks loads as usual!!
Way cool!!????
I think the Spark Go is probably a good option for those who travel frequently because it is so compact.
